Sublime Stitching: Hundreds of Hip Embroidery Patterns and How-To
by Jenny Hart for Chronicle Books

Yay! The new book is already appearing on shelves at some booksellers, but it will be EVERYWHERE in October. If you're just dying, beg for it at your local bookseller, or order it direct from Chronicle Books. I'll have copies for sale on Sublime Stitching in about a month, and they'll be signed.  Roll Eyes

About the book: The first half is an expanded how-to on embroidery, with additional tips, tricks and cautionary tales. There are new stitches for you learn, plus the introduction of some previously unknown stitches discovered while embroidering in the field. These stitches were not found in any other reference book, so I gave them names like Twinkle Stitch and Bamboo Stitch (it's fun to invent stitches- you should try it). Brand new project examples and lots of pretty photos abound. The second half is made up of over 90 ALL NEW transfer patterns: rhumba dancers, teapots, baby stuff, race cars, owls, swans, muscial instruments, fruit, pastries, more dogs, more cats, more banners, more alphabets...more, more, more. When you cut a pattern from the book, the front and back inside cover have folder pockets so you can store them for later use! The book is $19.95 and you can order it here!

You'd think I could wait and be patient and get it at a book signing with Jenny, what with living right here in Austin...but no. I couldn't wait.  I LOVE IT! Look out you mountains of fabric in my studio, I'm on a floss attack!
