(this is my unofficial post)

I'm sure it was lovely, Andrea.

I received today from Andrea (pollyprissypants) and I love it.

The quote says, "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read. -Groucho Marx"

And here's my action shot Smiley

(I'm reading The Heart is a Lonely Hunter)

And here's a pic of my mark from PureOath (it looks lovely and is magnetic).

I received from HippieKender and it's friggin' awesome. It's the Portland city skyline (I haven't lived here long enough to pick anything out...maybe next year Wink ) with a nice little silver beaded dangle. It's in copy of e.e. cummings' complete works.

I received a few days ago from squire_inaria. It's a lovely geisha with one of my favorite quotes on it. "Be patient and tough, someday this pain will be useful to you."

(It's in Only Revolutions, I am so excited to start it!) Thank you, Sara. I love it. It's sturdy and simple. Just my taste Smiley

Oooh I just received from Tero (and yours finally(!) went out today in the mail). It's a kawaii fawn with a purple tassle. I am choosing to tell myself it's a My Little Pony and I wrap it's luscious mane around the fawn. Obviously, I love all of it. You are awesome, Tero.

Received from habitat-lady. She drew me some dynamic waffles. It's awesome! I just started a list of "facts" about Freemasons so it's guarding those facts. The pictures are kind of crappy but the waffles are laminated with a gold tassel. They are very cool!

I was actually about to ask the same question! I also received a lovely bookmark from PureOath (to PureOath: yes the gorilla is still there. I don't know how he does it in this heat!) and was trying to decide where I needed to post the picture. I also think adding to the original picture post is a good idea, but I just hope I don't miss any that get added later on!

Okay here is my lovely bookmark from the unofficial swap:

Thank you so much PureOath!

This one is from our fearless leader, Cassiecate 57. You can't see the quote very well but it says 'My soul is in the sky' from Shakespeare.

Thank you Cassie!

Here is my unofficial bookmark from HippieKender. The moon image was a freezer paper stencil. I aodre anything with moons on it.

Thanks Hippie!

I just received my lovely (replacement) bookmark from Pollyprissypants. She was wonderful enough to resend when the first one went AWOL during shipping at the post office. It is a paper base with fabric moon, stars and cloud and says 'Star light, Star bright.'

Thank you Polly!!

From Tero: A gorgeous goddess-themed bookmark. The base is a mermaid and there is a small spiral goddess charm on the end of the beaded part. There is also a small tag that says 'find peace within.' She really hit me head on with this one.

Thank you Tero!!

From habitat-lady: a beautiful red bookmark with a gorgeous shooting star cutout. The quote on it is pretty awesome too- 'Witchery is merely a word for what we are all capable of- Charles de Lint'

Thank you habitat-lady!

Aaaaaand, this'll be my unofficial entry.
Here's the one I received from PureOath (again, go go gadget The Phantom Tollbooth):

It's adorable! Thanks, PureOath!

Here's the one I received from HippieKender..... I love Halloween, so I got an awesomely colorful, seasonally appropriate bookmark!

Thanks, HK!

This one's from Cassiecate57. I LOVE THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS.

It says, "My, what a brilliant nose you have!"
Thanks, Cassie! It's too cute!

This is from squire_inaria. It's on Halloween cardboard. The front view has Jack Skellington pondering on his hill, and the back has my fave quote from Willy Wonka, "We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams."

Thanks, squire_inaria! It's so cute and I can't wait to use it!

ACK! I received the kewlest Edward Scissorhands from habitat_lady today!

She drew it herself! I. HEART. EDWARD. SCISSORHANDS. For reals, yo. Thanks, habitat_lady! I adore it!

And this little cutie I received from Tero. It's got a owl! My husband remarked about how appropriate that was for me. Thanks, Tero! I love it!

HippieKender's Unofficial Gallery Spot

From PureOath - The clipped corners remind me of Battlestar Galactica. They are magnetic.  Thank you, PureOath!

From PollyPrissyPants - Pac-Man and ghosts (Blinky, Inky and Clyde perhaps?) made of felt.  Thank you PollyPrissyPants! Cheesy

From Tero - a "hookmark" with flowers and butterflies on the metal part and butterfly beads and charm on the dangle.  I love it (and so does my kitten; he tried to steal it Cheesy )  Thank you Tero!

From cassiecate57 - I got not 1 but TWO adorable robot bookmarks inspired by my wists!  PLUS, I got a lovely flower sitcker (and it's 3D).  Thanks so much cassiecate, I love them! (Oh, and I think you are a "draw-er" Wink )

From Squire_Inaria - a wonderful pirate themed bookmark!  It's a lovely map with a pirate boat Smiley I think this is absolutely wonderful, thanks so much!

It says "That's what a ship is, you know. It's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs but what a ship is... is freedom."  Yay POTC, love it!

Recieved today from squire_inaria and Pogo!

From squire_inaria, the lovely belly dancer bookmark!  She used a delicious, velvety paper and a beautiful belly dancer:

From Pogo, a delightful Luna Lovegood quote mark, and a gorgeous beaded mark with my three favorite colors (purple, black, and silver) and keys!

And here it sits, in my current read:

Thank you so much, ladies!  You are very talented crafters, and awesome swap partners - I love them all!  Smiley

Pollyprissypants a felt bookmark with trees and flowers.

From Pureoath a nifty magnet bookmark.  Very creative thinking!

Two from Hippiekender.  One in use with moon and stars, and an awesome origami corner marker.

Very cool and many thanks!

Here is a lovely bookmark from Squire_inaria with celestial bookmark love.  The quote is "There they stand, the innumerable stars. Shining in order like a living hymn, written in light."
It's beautiful and thank you so much.

And from Cassiecate57, a polkadot delight corner bookmark, rocking a wonderful Vonnegut phrase,
 "So it goes."

I do love that paper!  Thank you, Cassiecate!

And Correlating - I missed your envelope this morning when I grabbed the stack to mail.  It will go out tomorrow. MAILED!

Received from a beautiful bookmark from Tero today with beads and an awesome moon charm.  This swap is like never-ending Christmas!  Tero, thank you; I love it.

Got my first bookmark *squee*

This one is from Jessysihk.  Beauty in simplicity and I love lotus flowers. Thanks  Grin

Bookmark #2  from 1watermonkey.  It's my first fabric bookmark and i'm in love.

Bookmark #3 from Amber565.  (Sorry for the shotty pic but I have to use my webcam until my camera is fixed.)  The braided one is a pretty lavender with black stitching and the wire one has white pearly beads. Both are beautiful.  Thanks again Amber.

Bookmark #4 from Bewara (again sorry for the horrid pic)  This pic does not do it justice! Love it!

This is the last of the bookmarks.  These are from YumJello01.  I love the scrap marker, it's a receipt from "99 xpress" The other lovely one is very nightmareish.

Can't wait to see what else I get.

Had fun crafting and swaping with my group.  Hope to swap with you all again.  Grin

I received an amazing package from Myrdda! I can honestly say that its one of my favorite swap packages of all time, because I just love everything in it so much!

First, the bookmarks she made:

And on top of that, the FIVE bookmarks she bought:

We also agreed to swap books. I was expecting a nice paperback novel or something. Instead, I get this:

Which opens up to this:

Yup, she made me my own herbal grimoire, including finding and printing all the information in it! I absolutely love it to death! I've been wanting a book like this for awhile, but this is far better than anything I could have bought!

A close up of the title page:

And of the back, which has blank pages for sketching the plants or adding my own notes:

Ok, I could say I saved the best for last.....I really LOVED all my bookmarks!!!  Finally getting the stars in alignment, and phone working for photos (I just wanted to get them up, so sorry for the poor quality!)  The pix do not do them justice...

#1 I received 2 beautiful marks from Onyxnox.  One is a long length of ribbon with a cute flower at the top, and beads in the center- great for larger books!  The other is GORGEOUS- beautiful fabric with flowers and ribbon  with the smallest little dragonfly button I've ever seen....LOVE IT!  Thank you - they are precious.

#2 From blupaisan.  A red and white mark with hand drawn, art nouveau designs all around and my initial on the bottom.  What fantastic drawing!  And red is my fave color- right on the money, blu!  Thank you.

#3 From homerof2- the most wonderful little crocheted butterfly, in (of course) RED!!  fabulous!!  so dainty and whimsical.  Thank you so much

#4 from habitit-lady- a corner mark with a hand cut butterfly (notice a theme? I am so happy!!) It is so nice, but unfortunately the Post Office got to it before I did, and there was a little dangle of some sort that was crushed in the process...I think I can find a worthy replacement, though Smiley  Many thanks, habitat!

#5 from Michela - a hook mark with red square beads (look like shell, maybe?) and small elegant crystal spacers in between.  At the end is a 'LOVE' charm.  Too cute!!  Lovely work, Michela!  Thanks

I love all my marks, and to my happiness and surprize, they are all different!  Now to get on my books- currently reading 'The Help' by Kathryn Stockett....off to read, and thanks again to all my partners....so sorry about the late posting.  Smiley

I received 3 bookmarks today, 2 simple-but-elegant thong/tassel markers from DarthSqurl and one fun paper collage from Rainbowsaurus.

Here's an "action shot" of the gold tassel bookmark from DarthSqurl:

Here's a closeup, the better to appreciate the cute little orange button:

Here's a closeup of the bauble atop the purple thong marker from DarthSqurl:

And here you can see the bottom bits as well:

I love the little silver eye bead and, of course, the wee little key.  (One of my theme suggestions was "skeleton keys.")  Thanks, DarthSqurl!!!

"Circus sideshows" was another of my theme suggestions, so I got a double-sided collage of vintage freak-show images from Rainbowsaurus.  Here's the front:

And here's the back:

(FYI, it's inside The Bibliophile's Devotional.)  Thanks, Rainbowsaurus -- this is right up my midway alley!!!

I came home from school in such a foul mood, coming in and directly complaining to the DH how people were stupid, and if I were as callow and immature as the kids just fresh at college as I saw today, I'd poke myself in the eye with a hot french fry .... and he pulls out the highly anticipated package from Willowe! I was so happy! My three year old started singing the 'we just got a letter' song from Blue's Clues, so I even had theme music. She wrote such a sweet letter, and I feel so completely spoiled! Sorry for the crappy pics, but I'll try to explain them and express how happy I am!  Grin

I do NOT own this book - but between my husband and I, we have all the rest. I love complete sets!

another sideways photo, but it is what it is today. This shows the very pretty fairy bookmark she purchased for me in the most amazingly cool book diary where I can write down the books I've read, my thoughts and impressions, and just to keep track of them - ALPHABETICALLY, even!

how cool are bookplates?!?! SO COOL! I'm having a big decision as to which books deserve the bookplates!

this is one of the very lovely bookmarks Willowe made for me - and I really like it! Purple is one of my favorite colors, and amethyst is one of my favorite stones. This really is so sweet and elegant, and I love the way it sits in the book!

and what, by the Seven Little Gods, is this?! a steampunk bookmark, which I Ell-Oh-Vee-EE so very very much!

and here it is hard at work holding my spot in Mansfeild Park, of which I am reading for the ninety-eighth time.

Willowe, you SPOILED me! Thank you so very very very much! I am truly so pleased, and so happy! You are the rockingest of all swappers!

I have received 3 packages of awesomely perfect bookmarks!

First bookmark from rosie1981:

So perfect and ME, I love the fabric bookmark! (In The Gunslinger, rereading b/c I'm about to organize a Dark Tower swap!)

From 1watermonkey I received:

This great long thong bookmark, with beadies and shrinky dink charms:

I love that it's long, it's perfect for hardbacks (seen here in Under the Dome)

From amber565, not one, not two, but THREE bookmarks!

The one on the left was her first attempt, and she wound up not liking it, but sent it because it's still totally usable!  And a great braided ribbon one, it's stretchy!

Here in Bel-Ami is a sweet bookmark, the background is shiny silver, so it's a little hard to take a pic of, but it's great blue stars with sparkly pink insides!

I love all my bookmarks, and I still have books I'm reading that are in need of bookmarks!  Can't wait to receive from JessySihk and Bewara!

Just received some more wonderful bookmark-y goodness! Andromeda007's came with the regular mail and then just when I thought I was done for the day I received Pogo's! They are absolutely gorgeous!

First is Andromeda007's bookmark. It was inspired by one on my wist. I am in complete awe of the picture transfers she did on the muslin squares.

And closeups of the pictures.

Pogo sent two bookmarks. The first is purple (my favorite color) with moons and stars (I follow the goddess Arianrhod) with some of my favorite quotes on it.

The second is beautifully beaded with a faery sitting on a moon.

They are all beautiful! Thank you both!!!
