we've had a squirrel visiting our backyard lately and he's looking to bury nuts.... absolutely adorable and he doesn't seem to mind people much. it seems that keeping the back a tangle of weeds and overgrown plants is a draw for wildlife, first we had the fox family now a wee squirrel! should i leave some nuts out for him do ya think?

It sounds like everyone has much more interesting critters around than I do. Corduroy Cat, when I was little I used to go with my mom for her regular exercise walks at the park where there were tons of squirrels. To keep me from getting board she would load me up with peanuts to feed them as we walked. They got used to me, and some cute elderly folks who did the same thing, and after a while would almost take them from our hands. They would get up to about a foot away from my hand before they would get too spooked and give it up. It was a lot of fun for kid...but actually, I still think it would be a lot of fun  Smiley. I did happen to see a deer the other day that not only had antlers, but the fuzzy kind. Pretty cute. He was just grazing on the side of the road.

I added something to my shop. Here's a preview:

All this talk about flakers is sad.  Sad I was flaked on in my last 2 swaps here. Both in the sweatshop swap and in a superhero swap. Luckily an angel stepped in for the latter, and he was great.  Smiley

Moving on to a happier topic I just finished another bird stuffie. This one is an evil crow. What do you guys think?

I just posted some new slouchy legwarmers made with bulky yarns:  autumn spice (a lovely heathery pumpkin color) and apple green (a cheerful bright green):

Seems like this year is my year for getting sick. I suspect it has something to do with my youngest being in Kindy. Anyway, it took forever due to brain fog, but I have a knit string bag in my shop now.

Hey, jewelry makers! Can anybody make something like this?

Actually, I'm pretty much in love with almost all the bracelets and necklaces in this person's etsy store - anything anyone can do?

I've been up since the crack of dawn this morning... making homemade, vegan cinnamon rolls!

... but, we're still waiting. The dough was slow to rise and we have another hour or so until they're edible.

I went to a great outlet today (only open a few times a year) that is mostly childrens clothes (I did get some cute stuff for my little guy) but I mainly went because they also sell their past seasons fabrics... mmmmm, so awesome.  Everything was 2 yd cuts starting at $4 up to $12.
This is what I scored.... everything on top is knits (I am going to make myself some cute pants for lounging) and the bottom is just cottons.  I am thinking about making some cloth grocery bags with them, especially the magenta floral fabric since it's a heavier weight (would anyone be interested in those)?

Gratuitous wool photo:

That batch will be flicked and washed again (already washed twice). Since it isn't stinky any more, I might flick it backstage.

Our theater production closes Saturday night, after which there is a brief window  where I have a lot of free time. If you had talked with me before (last month) about some custom sewing, now is a good time to remind me again....

oh, is there any interest in striped legwarmers?  perhaps some combination of brown / green / white?
