1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: my anthropologie inspired neck warmer on: November 25, 2008 03:04:35 PM
How did you get the scalloping on the edges? I've about mastered basic stitches, and want to expand to get more fancy and intricate. I appreciate the help.

There's a free pattern for a similar scarf on the Lion Brand website you might find helpful: http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/60820AD.html

(You need to register unfortunately.)

Adorable! For some reason, you + the hat reminds me of my most favorite childhood book...Madeline! Oh, La La!

Why, thank you - I loved Madeline too!
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Striking Doily Beret on: October 17, 2008 10:24:28 AM
I made a beret while my union was on strike a couple of weeks ago - I wanted a light hat to keep my ears warm on the picket line. I used a doily pattern as the basis for this, so I call it my Striking Doily Beret.  Smiley

More pics and tutorial on my blog: http://kristis-tea.blogspot.com/2008/09/striking-doily-beret.html. I've included a link to the doily pattern I used, but I imagine other doilies would work well too.
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: DD's Shrug she made on: August 29, 2008 04:32:31 PM
That's really cute and very ambitious for a first real project. Your DD should be proud!
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Two versions of a raglan on: August 29, 2008 02:03:51 PM
I've been meaning to post these for a while. They are a shrug and a cropped cardi made using the same very basic, top-down raglan construction. With different yarn and with longer sleeves and body, the second came out looking quite different.

Blogged, with a sort of tutorial, here:

I've seen that pattern before, but that's the first version I've seen that makes me want to go do it. Lovely job.
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Lace-up high socks - better than the original? on: July 28, 2008 08:11:13 AM
They're utterly beautiful. I'd love to see a pattern too.

That is beautiful. Did you use a pattern? How long did it take you?
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Plum Pop Tab Purse! on: March 23, 2008 07:40:52 AM
Wow, that totally rocks. I love the design, it looks like an intricate inlaid mosaic.
