1  Re: Jar of Whimsies 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by gerberagirl on: February 27, 2009 07:44:39 PM
I both sent and received this week!

Here are some pictures of the whimsical goodies I received.

Some adorable worry dolls from Guatemala, pampering treats from JR Watkins, cute bobby pins that I wore the next day (I know, who doesn't love showing up at the office with pink butterflies in their hair?)

Some puzzles Mr. Gerbera Girl enjoys (Thanks kjlutz!) and a cute little bell in the shape of a bird that made my kitty come running when I opened the box (which is huge! and still full of beads and stickers!)

My favourite has to be the beaded stictch markers in an adorable snow white tin for my knitting basket that my partner made just for me!

(sorry I couldn't get this one to focus)

2  Teddy Bear from Debbie Bliss Nursery Knits in Knitting: Completed Projects by gerberagirl on: January 19, 2009 08:06:18 AM

I just finished this for my first niece/nephew (it actually is twins, but I haven't finished the second one yet) from the Debbie Bliss Nursery Knits pattern. The teddy bear is supposed to wear a sweater or a dress, but I'm going to do that in a little bit.

The embriodery is a little weak, but I think it adds to the handmade authentic look. (Or that is what I tell myself.)

4  Re: Make Me A Needlebook! Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by gerberagirl on: October 31, 2007 05:27:03 PM
I received a simply beautiful needlebook from Alternawidget today!

She offered to make it larger so that I could fit in my special project needles from my grandmother's sewing basket.  Coincidentally, I swapped with someone else in her home last month on the pin cushion swap, and she also offered to use the same material so that they would match!  It is so beautiful, I really appreciate how special it is!!

I received my pincushion today!  It is the sweetest!

Notice the cute pins of cats and the sweet book for holding pins too!  I can't wait to use it! I've cut pieces for a new quilt so I will get started with it right away!  Thanks so  much Dead Girl, I knew you shouldn't worry... cross border mailing just is slow... Smiley

6  Re: Multi-Colored Star Crayons in Completed Projects by gerberagirl on: August 23, 2007 08:52:15 AM
I believe I was inspired by the same thread of post... these are the crayons I crafted with Arzu for my swap partner's kids (seeing as she recieved the package yesterday I may post freely)

(sorry, I couldn't get the lighting right for them not to look blurry)

We put them in at 230 degrees which was about the melting point to avoid burning the wax

7  clothespin bag in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by gerberagirl on: August 23, 2007 08:32:20 AM
I wasn't sure if this craft should go in the bag section, but it is for the home and I thought it would be fine here...

I am doing a laundry themed gift for my friend's bridal shower this weekend and wanted to make a bag for her clothespins... I love the old one my mother handed down to me and designed this after it. This one features a plastic handle, which will need to be clipped to the line, the fabric pattern suits her perfectly! I can't wait to give her the gift!

9  This one is still warm in the morning! in Knitting: Completed Projects by gerberagirl on: July 26, 2007 05:06:32 PM
As a beginner to intermediate knitter, this one took a little more thinking than I would have liked, but it keeps a hot water bottle warm until the morning! I used an alpaca-wool-cotton blend (Bernat, Haven) on Number 5 needles, and it is almost as cuddly as my kitten!

I wish I had this years ago, that is all I can say.

10  3 Years Later in Quilting: Completed Projects by gerberagirl on: July 26, 2007 04:55:59 PM
I started this quilt before my husband and I were engaged... After moving 5 times I finally settled down and finished it!

I love the history in a quilt; the navy blue used to be my corduroy pants and the flowered print was my mom's shirt!

I'm new to craftster, it's nice to meet you all!
