12  Virginia Hamm in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by pickled_peppers on: March 26, 2010 11:24:44 AM
Meet Virginia Hamm... the pig who is absolutely fearless when it comes to heights! Shocked

SHE may not be afraid of heights, but it makes me queazy to see her up so high all the time. Looks like it's time for a little inventing to ease my nerves...

Virginia Hamm is my own design. She was made using a 4.0 (G) hook and WW yarn. She's a little over 4" tall at her highest point (her ears) and 6" from snout to curly tail Smiley

Thanks for looking! What do you think? Grin

13  Did someone say Purple Monkey...? in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by pickled_peppers on: October 12, 2009 05:34:22 PM

I have a friend who jokingly asked me for a purple monkey when she saw my work... and her birthday was today.

The look on her face when she opened the present was PRICELESS Grin

I named him Gilbert Grape  Cheesy He's the second biggest stuffie I've ever made... he's over a foot tall and super huggable Kiss
I had a hard time giving him away!
I guess I'll just have to make another one... Grin

Both the Monkey and his little banana are my own design.  Cheesy

Thanks for looking!

As promised, I made Moose Wayne a Batman costume! Cheesy

Rawr. Grin Yes, he can see through those eyeholes, it's kind of hard to tell in this picture, so just trust me Wink

Batmoose is ready to defend and protect Motham City! Cheesy

Thanks for looking! Now don't tell anyone that you know Batmoose's true identity.  Lips sealed

Check out this rockin' image I was sent! Cheesy

15  Moose Wayne in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by pickled_peppers on: September 01, 2009 04:37:07 PM
I made a Moose!  Cheesy

I based him off of a garden statue I own... which I named Moose Willis. I like to name things after celebrities. Grin

I think I should make Moose Wayne a Batman costume for Halloween, don't you? Wink

Thanks for looking!

16  Frog Prince! in Crochet: Completed Projects by pickled_peppers on: June 26, 2009 02:47:20 PM
This morning I was hanging out at the lake near my house, watching the dragonflies dance over the lily pads and enjoying the breeze coming off the water....

....when I heard a strange sound coming from the bushes to my right. Curious, I went to investigate, and look who hopped out to say hi!

The little guy just sat there, looking up at me with those big puppy dog eyes.

I bent down and held out my hand, and he hopped over to me and jumped onto my palm like he had known me forever. He's hanging with me right now, and I've named him Freddy Prince Jr....  Cheesy

Freddy is based on this doodle I did a while ago:

And no, I haven't tried kissing him yet. Kiss Blech. Grin

Thanks for looking! Comments appreciated!

17  My Oscar - Mark II in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by pickled_peppers on: March 11, 2009 02:19:22 PM
Okay, I made another Oscar because the first one . . . well, from the side his face reminded me of Jay Leno.

And, in my opinion, he had thunder thighs. I knew I could do better.
So here's Mark II Grin

I even made the base closer to the real thing Cheesy

And gave him a tushie Wink
I can't seem to get the design perfected, this Oscar seems to have very short legs and a very long torso Roll Eyes Blast.

He's quite a bit taller than Jay Oscar, measuring in at approximately 16.5" tall.
Jay Oscar is only 14" tall.
It's the base.

I'm planning to send Oscar Mark II off to a certain Best Supporting Actor nominee who I knew had a very slim chance of winning against Heath, but I was rooting for him anyway. The note I'm sending along simply reads:
Since you kept me in stitches in Tropic Thunder, I stitched you the Oscar I think you should have won.

I need to send it out really soon, it's already pretty late.

Anyway, thanks for looking! Comments are appreciated Cheesy

Well, I tried. Grin

19  Meet Harrison in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by pickled_peppers on: February 14, 2009 09:01:34 AM
This... is Harrison.

I based him off of the spotted elephant from the Island of Misfit Toys (Rudolph) Of course now I can't get the Island Of Misfit Toys song out of my head. Undecided

Harrison loves almonds, the Bonnie Hunt show, watching the sun set and of course his Top Hat Grin

Harrison's arms and legs move, I forgot to take a picture of him standing up Roll Eyes

He's 7" tall sitting and 9" standing (without the top hat)

Made using worsted weight yarn and a size 5.0 hook.

Thanks for looking!
Harrison would love some feedback Cheesy

20  My First EVER RDJ sketch/picture in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by pickled_peppers on: February 09, 2009 12:58:47 PM
I haven't decided what color his shirt should be. Huh

Yes, this is my first attempt at drawing Robert Downey Jr's whole face. I'm pretty happy with it Grin
