2  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: quilting question (i already kinda know the answer) on: October 10, 2007 06:18:37 AM
Maybe you should make a duvet cover.  sew front to back right sides together and leave top or bottom open to slide a nice comforter or blanket in--then use velcro, or a zipper, or buttons, or even ties to hold opening closed.  Benefit of having a reversible beautiful covering for your bed that can even be washed, but doesn't have any stitches through.

Holy Tamole, this is your first quilt!  I am blown away!!!!
I have been quilting for years, and I am ashamed to say I haven't made a quilt this big or nearly this sensational.

Awesome job!

Did you quilt it too?

Awww, thanks Grin
I usually sew for my 3 dd, so it was nice to be able to make something for myself for a change.

The designs were awesome; the biker chick came from the bad girls of sewing message board

and the chickie came from embroidery garden (I added the wording)
Embroidery machines kick @**!   lol!  Wink

I made a hobo bag to tote library books, mail, and patterns around in.
Embroidering it was the most fun!
