21  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Ceramic Trash Can on: November 29, 2008 04:01:10 PM
The project was to made a model of something, replicate an item. This really is not my thing that I usually do, so it took me ages to even think of something to make, but finally I did.

The trash cans in Singapore look like this. I added the little sticker of the dude throwing away the trash after i made it.

22  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Felt Cockroach Plushie on: June 01, 2008 02:09:44 AM
So again... I love my art teacher and wanted to make her something. Her last name is Roach, so what's more fitting....a cockroach! It was really easy to make, and I stuffed it with plastic bags to make it crunchy. My teacher really loved it, she did her classic "omg" and laughed. hehe. she loved it when she squeezed it cause it crinkled, and her husband really loved it. hehe.

24  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Ceramic Slab Vase on: June 01, 2008 01:58:32 AM
I've had this shape stuck in my head for ages! Just this simple shape of the vase and I only got the shape out of my head when i finally started making this vase. I knew that I wanted to give it away to my councler cause she helped me alot through high school and I'm about to graduate. So it was ment for her, even though it would have been a really cool thing to keep for myself. When I gave it to her she loved it! She said it was the biggest piece of art, she really really loved it, made me happy. And she was even all "Wow, a piece of art before the artist becomes famouse." teheh!

my hands there just so u can see the size of it. pretty big. (band aid on thumb, killer ceramics, grr)

25  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Gold pinstripe prom dress on: May 19, 2008 02:45:03 AM
I went through so many ideas for my perfect prom dress, I couldn't settel on a design or even a colour. So one day my mom brought some fabric home that she got off Free Cycle, it was my colour and I knew it was the perfect material becuase it was strange. I started playing with it and finally got my idea! And that was like 2 weeks before prom, but it was a really fast dress. Also at the last minute i cut it short, it was floor length, but I wanted to be different... as usual. lol.

I love how my dress has 4 straps, was really easy and made it a great way to make sure my dress stayed up, the regular straps were a little loose so the halter was good to have adjustable.

Flowers, my best friend, Jivesh, was nice enough to get me a coursage even though I wasn't his official date.

Had my hair in a side pony tail and a head band, I thought it was really cute and simple, other girls spent so much on getting their hair done, what a waste.

Jivesh and I at his place.

Maryann, Jivesh and I being silly.

The theme was casion royal so Jivesh got a toy gun. I played with it most of the night, "killing" people I didn't like.

Sorry, there are no pictures of the back of the dress, but it was like an open back and had a strip across the back to cover up my bra and then the skirt had a little drape to it so you could see my back a little.

26  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Slab constructed ceramic boxes on: May 19, 2008 02:09:15 AM
I got bored one day during my free and thought it would be good to make another box or so. The one I originally made my mom uses all the time, it's on her desk filled with little nick nacks, so I figured she could use a few more.

27  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Potters Wheel on: May 19, 2008 02:06:18 AM
So this past semester in ceramics we've been using the wheel. These are just a few of my favorite creations. I'm still new at it, but I like to think im not that bad.

If any of you have experince at the wheel let me know if you think it's good for a beginer.

The one on the left is actually my first thing i tried making on the wheel.

Blue pots trial, the lip is crooked, but I still like them.

Brown cups and bowl.

Wiggle pots, learned how to make them on youtube!

Tiny cups.

Tea cup size, reminds me of Japanese stuff.

This was an accident, I bumped it, but turned out cool.

These were also kinda accidnetal, don't really know how I made them, they just kinda fell.

28  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Empire waist line rust coloured dress with poof sleeves on: May 19, 2008 01:55:42 AM
I made this back in March for an art ceremony. At my school we have this thing called Cultural Convention and delegates are chosen to represent our school and go to another school, 6 international schools in Southeast Asia. It's really a big deal. So I got chosen! XD and my piece was my "101 Mushrooms" ceramic ones. So at the assembly we got to dress in nice free dress (school has uniforms) so I wanted to make a dress, becuase I can. Anyway... I obviously didn't get the memo to wear black. Everyone was wearing black but me, I just don't wear black if I can help it, it's not my colour. Anyway... all artists just really wanna stand out, so I did. haha. Go me.

So I used part of an old vest pattern for the top half just to get the basic curves and then used another sleeve pattern from some other shirt. I altered all of those pieces so that they would fit together, had a really hard time on it acutally and I still dont like the way the top fits. And the skirt is just a boring gathered rectangle.

I really like the fabric though, it's kinda texturey.

haha, in the background you can see some pots i made and my mom at the computer.

And if you're wondering, my mom found the necklace in some pile of other people's junk. We collect lots of random things.
