11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / 12 (yes, I said 12) pairs of earrings and one bracelet! pic humongous on: January 12, 2008 10:51:50 AM
well, I didn't have much homework over the weekend, and while cleaning out my bead supply I found a bunch of awesome beads, so I spent about 2 hours beading... and here are the results!

1. Blue glass wire wrapped beads with tiny little star charms

2. black beads with tiny sparklies embedded in them with clear swarovski on top and bottom - much sparklier in person

3. I don't really like this pair.. purple flowers with yellow leaves hanging below

4. large purple resin beads with gold caps on top and bottom on large gold hoops

5. same as above, but green instead of purple

6. little rainbow-and-cloud polymer clay beads

7. glass purple cloudy and clear beads

8. two little charms, a lock and a key

9. sparkly purple beads

10. blue glass circles

11. square spiral beads on a long headpin

12. swarovski hearts

aaand the bracelet! rainbow glass beads alternating with tiny silver beads, on elastic string

That's it! Thanks for looking!
Comments, critiques, and suggestions welcome!

Well, we've got an ice storm at the moment, so of course i had to go out and get some pictures. The first two are from said ice storm and the 3rd is during the snowfall before the ice storm.

(This one is really quite yellow; if I had photoshop I would try to fix that!)

Hope you liked them! Comments/criticism/suggestions welcome!

15  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Photography - kitties, sunsets, flowers... on: September 14, 2007 01:47:34 PM
Well, i finally decided to show some of my photography. I have been doing photography for a few years, just for fun. i have taken many classes, and am in the process of setting up a darkroom in my basement. I hope to be a photographer/marine biologist someday. I havent been doing digital photography for very long (these pictures are all digital.) i'm going to try to take some pictures of my non-digital pics soon, so i can post them too! Oh, and all of these pictures were done in 3 separate photo shoots, so some of them will be very similar.
Please keep in mind that i am by no means a professional, and am not used to digital cameras yet!

Hope you like!

and of course, i have to slide in a picture of my pet

Hope you like! Comments appreciated!

16  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Quick 'n Easy on: September 09, 2007 03:00:51 PM
Sometimes, i have the urge to craft, but i don't want something that would take too much thought or too much time. Like if i don't have much time or i had a high-stress day and my brain needs a break. So what about an area in miscellaneous or something with a bunch of easy, quick crafts?
Also, this might be good for beginning craftsters, if they want to start out with something easy before they move on to the big projects.

What do you think? is this a good idea, is there a problem with it, has it already been suggested... (sorry if it has, i searched a couple of phrases and couldn't find anything like it)...?

18  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / miniature Chinese mask thingies.... pic heavy on: August 15, 2007 08:22:06 AM
So, my dad was cleaning his office and found these plastic mask-looking things...
on the box they were in it calls them 'special features of face-painting in chinese opera. then it has a lot of information about what the original face-painting was used for, and the history of face- painting in general...

I have no idea what to do with them... i could punch holes in them and turn them into a wacky pair of earrings that i would never wear... but i don't see any point in that. Any ideas for uses?

but without further ado, here they are! Do Erh-tuen and Blue-faced Tiger! (Strangely, it says Blue-faced Tiger is the green and red one...)

19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Earrings and an Anklet (pic huge) on: August 12, 2007 06:21:44 PM

20  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / gold leaf on: July 15, 2007 10:33:13 AM
hey there,

so, i'm taking a summer class where we're making illuminated letters. (If you don't know what that is, it's like in old manuscripts, where the first letter of the book is huge and decorated with paints and gold leaf and stuff.) so for some of the illuminated letters we're doing, we use gold leaf. and the class isn't over yet, but when it's done, i'll have a little bit of scrappy gold leaf left over, and i'm just wondering what to do with it!

it won't be very much... if it wasnt so torn up and full of holes, it would probably be about 3" x 3". for those of you who haven't seen gold leaf before, it's extremely thin!! it's kinda hard to work with cuz it gets stuck to your fingers....

any suggestions of what to do with it? it's too pretty to waste!!
