1  Doctor Who Tardis Tree Skirt in Winter Holidays by mink_bikini on: January 04, 2014 07:58:56 PM
This beauty went off to my awesome friend Spidermom as part of her Mini 12 days of Christmas swap, behold a Tardis tree skirt.

70's vintage shag trim around the outside, sequin braid in between each Tardis, I'm not really a Dr Who fan (commence shunning now!) but my family love it and totally demanded I make them one for next years festivities. I know my partner loved it she's a total Dr Who nut.

Hope you like!

Thanks to the lovely Spidermom more photos will be coming from her, photos uploaded into Flickr and erm no flipping idea where I go from there and how I get them on Craftster without showing just a link. I've had an awesome swap, I loved every single parcel and had a blast crafting for Spidermom
. For some reason I can only sporadically locate the photos I uploaded to Craftster image hosting so here are some that seemed to work.

My amazing teeny tiny Christmas scene for one of my 4 dollshouses (for my kids I promise) I absolutely love every piece here, the tiny wreath, tiny tree in a thimble and the tree and tree skirt were all amazing

Next up my ton of crafty goodies, two gorgeous pot holders in my Kitchen colours and a snowflake tea towel which is wayyy too good to use and of course the amazing table cloth with the fairies/gnomes. I put this on my side table right away.

Thank you Spidermom xoxo

Ok so I've finally cracked uploading my photos of the awesome crafty Christmas haul from the lovely Spidermom, get ready to be so jealous I was truly spoilt  Grin

First an under the tree shot of most of my lovely presents, couldn't resist eating some as soon as they were unwrapped  Shocked

As you can see all of my presents were wrapped up sooo beautifully and each one completely different, such a joy to open each one.

I'm still getting my house in order after the days festivities so my photos will be a little out of order. Sorry Spidermom I know you were super organised.

What's in this amazing package?

Only my very own mini glitter house scene!!, made in a matchbox, it is tiny, and sparkly oh and it hangs on the tree, behold the cuteness.

6  Granny Rectangle Hottie in Crochet: Completed Projects by mink_bikini on: September 29, 2013 09:12:48 PM
It's getting colder here in Canada (booo) so I decided to make myself a Crochet Hot Water bottle cover, it was a fun project and does the trick, no burnt toes for me.

I just made the pattern up as I went along to be honest, apparently all Hot Water bottle manufactures seem to differ slightly on size and shape so I didn't write anything down.

First time trying out as Granny rectangle, and posting to the Crochet board too  Shocked

The back which I am reliably informed by my 4yr old son is the 'boy side' !

I have more photos and info on my blog (link in my signature) if you want to see more

Thank you Gamemom, here we go some of the pics. It was hard to get all the detail in, I have more on my blog if anyone is so inclined to check them out. The pincushion was made around an old sauce bottle lid so it's recycled too (my fave type of crafts  Grin) Gamemom likes Paisley hence the swirly details.

8  Recycled Medal Ribbon Boxy pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mink_bikini on: October 25, 2012 03:59:44 PM

I had a great big stash of medal ribbons that I scored from a thrift store for 50c,the bag had 33 in some 11m so I went to town.I love the Red,White,Blue combo (I'm a Brit) so I stitched the ribbons down to a foundation fabric then wove them, stitched around the edge then sewed a boxy pouch as usual.

I love how it turned out, so Geometric, bright and perfect for holding my Crochet hooks.

I have a few other medal ribbon projects around and about Craftster too.

Hope you like this... and if you ever come across a stash of unwanted medal ribbons, I'll be your best friend Wink

9  TUTORIAL Milk Bottle Top Halloween Spiders in Completed Projects by mink_bikini on: October 11, 2012 09:30:57 PM

Just made these for my little ones and thought they were fun, here's how you can make yours too.

What you'll need:

Hot Glue Gun
Ribbon/Bias tape (small pieces of either one)
Googly Eyes
Pipe Cleaners (at least 3 for each one)

Milk Bottle Top

Glue on Pompoms

Glue on White pompoms for eyes and Googly eyes

Glue some ribbon around the base of the bottle top to hide the ugly plastic, If you have tons of pompoms then you could add those instead (I ran out of certain colours so opted for Ribbon/bias tape instead). From pipe cleaners cut a small piece and bend to shape of fangs and 8 Z shapes for legs.

Flip that little sucker over and glue in all the legs, hold each leg down until it's stuck firmly or it may come loose when you start bending their legs.

Flip them over and rearrange the legs until they either stand or sit.

Go crazy and make tons.

Hope you have a blast making these cute little guys.  Grin

10  Recycled Medal Ribbon Crochet Hook Clutch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mink_bikini on: September 30, 2012 02:13:18 PM
I love love love recycling and when this huge bag of 33 medal ribbons came my way I had to make something interesting when them... beyond holding my own verision of the Olympics Wink

My Crochet hook clutch was looking a little tired so I whipped up this little puppy using the same pattern Wink

I just stitched the ribbons together and used them like regular fabric, I'm a big fan of Red, White and Blue combo as I'm a Brit abroad.
