1361  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenges / Re: Craft Challenge #24 - Craft Your Resolution - Due Feb 1 - Feb 5 2008 on: January 02, 2008 06:17:57 AM
Hey mollytwin1 & FruityLoops! All of the products that Spreadshirt offers are listed at the URL below so if you see any styles you think I should add, lemme know. I'm happy to do so! Smiley

Thanx for that Leah Wink  I was personally commenting more on spreadshirt as a whole than what you were offering as a prize cos anything is generous and I'd probably do the challenge even without a prize for incentive, especially this one!!

Here in the UK spreadshirt only do S/M or S/M/L in all women's items, there is only one item in an XL which is the plain t-shirt, but in fact looking at the US site they do most women's items in an XL or XXL, so it looks like they're just deficient over here, bah!

Oh you knoooows it!!! Cheesy  Sat in the office on first day back dreeeeaming of chocolate and chocolate related crafts, drooool.  This challenge sooo isn't going to do my 'lose weight' resolution any good is it, lol, some double-sessions at the gym in order I think to make room for more chocolate...

I wish the Crafter's Spreadshirt Shop had more clothing for bigger girls.  All we get is a tee shirt.  I really wanted to order a long sleeve shirt or a hoodie but they are only made for "slim girls".  apparently I am the only fat girl who crafts and it is annoying.  I don't need another short sleeve shirt...I am fat why do I want my fat arms out for the world to see anyway...I like to be covered up.  Anyway I just wanted to state how I didn't find this to be very fair and it has always vexed me.

I know what you mean, I've no end of short sleeve t-shirts with slogans on when all I wanted was a hoodie or v-neck shirt or something cos I don't like standard t-shirts (not complimentary to the larger bust I find) and the other options didn't go big enough so you're defo not alone there Sad  I got a dressmakers dummy for xmas from the bloke and want to get into stencilling cos I'm fed up of shops!!  So I think it would have to be a bag for me if it came to it, though I am always embarassed to use bags that I haven't made since I primarily make bags, lol.

My only resolution this year is to lose weight again, since 3 yrs ago I finally decided to lose weight and lost 6 stone over 2 yrs (had at least 8 stone to lose mind so was still pretty sizey :S) but then last year I managed to gain 4 stone back again, in only 12 months :S doh Sad  Anyways so I shall commit to giving it a go though I am off on a lil holiday later this month, anything to help me stick to my resolution!  Cheesy

Wow, now I do admit that I am a dog person and detest real-life kitties but those  are so sweet I may very well explode in jealousy!!  I looove that they have bendy tails, it totally had to be done Cheesy

Very pretty, you've given me some inspiration, thanks Smiley

Well you're very welcome Cheesy  I've now road tested it a few times and it's both a good size (I always pack everything in my bag when I go out!) and the handles are a lot stronger than I thought they would be!!

Ahhhh, January 8th is too far away, I'm getting oddly excited lol!! I wanna craft now!!!

I've slacked off way too much over Christmas Sad

I know what you mean, I just spent the last 4-5 days way away on the other side of the country in Norfolk with my blokey visiting my folks and had to buy 3 crafty magazines to cope with my crafting withdrawal symptoms!!  Am spending this arvo online sales shopping but this evening and tomorrow am planning to go sewing mad Cheesy  Probably should do something a little more exciting for NYE mind but since I always find it a let-down I thought I'd spend it doing something I really enjoy (whilst also enjoying a nice bottle of Asti, mmm) Smiley

I love this bag!  What a perfect background fabric; it looks fabulous.  This coming from one who hates BATS!!  I once had one tangle in my hair-it was a horrible experience.
I'm sure your MIL loved it.  Homemade gifts are the very best.

Oh maaan that sounds quite horrific, I'm not surprised you don't like bats now :S  They're so cute from a distance but up close with those lil fangs and big rubbery looking wings no doubt quite scary!

Wow, this is GORGEOUS, you did a fantastic job Cheesy
(Also loving the fact you said "beddy-byes" .... I say beddy-byes too sometimes Cheesy)

T he he, now I'm embarassed, I'm 31 going on 8 I think!   Roll Eyes

Oh, I reeeeeeeeeeallllllllllllyyyy like that bag!!!  It rocks that you even included some sleeping bats hanging from the branches.  Very cool!  I'd carry that bag with pride!  I bet your mil gets lots of comments on it! Smiley

I have to admit that the hanging bats was my blokeys idea, think they totally made it though Cheesy  Tempted to make a bag like it for myself as well but don't think MiL would be v happy then, lol!!
1370  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Bats in the forest shoulder bag - v last min gift! on: December 25, 2007 03:25:56 PM
Evening all, hope everyone has had a super xmas, we're just winding down and getting ready for beddy-byes Smiley  As such though I've now given this bag to my MiL (since I was  hosting xmas for the first time today Shocked) as an xmas gift so I'm safe to put it on here now!  Was sewing it until mid yesterday still as I've been working on so many gifts, lol.

She loooooves bats and I toyed with the idea of doing a bat shaped bag and what have you, or a bag with a like layered bat applique thing on like a did for a friend (tho that was with a fishy) but looked through my fabric stash and thought a bit and ended with this Cheesy

Lower half is black corduroy from a shirt MiL in fact gave me for bag-making, and the main material is a like thickish cotton (curtain/upholstery thickness) with twig/tree print on that I hadn't been sure how to use.  I made the bats from felt using freehand paper templates I made.

Hope you like it, I'm totally in love with it and I'm not even in love with bats so hope she loved it Smiley  Happy xmas all!
