1  Purdy in Pink jewellery roll in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by FruityLoops on: October 01, 2018 03:08:54 AM
Hi guys!

I had planned to make this jewellery roll for my holiday but didn't get it done on time unfortunately.  Love how it turned out for my first attempt at making a jewellery roll though!

I usually go for more colourful fabrics but I do love the pink and silver/grey combo!  The Chinese Brocade fabric is from Mibs Fabric (FB) and I don't remember where I got the silver satin from, I think I may have recycled it from something a while back.

There are 2 big zip pockets (with the cutest decorative zips!), a roll for rings, and a panel for earrings  Grin

Hope you like, c&c welcome!!

Thanks for looking  Cool

Well Mr Toast has been home for 4 days now, and I've finally got a chance to get some piccies up!!  We got a new dog the same day and it's been very stressful, feel like I've done nothing but walk her, stop her from ripping stuff up and feed her every day so far, argh, but Mr Loops is downstairs with her atm so that I could finally do this post!

Anyways, so CraftADDChick put together a wonderful swap package for me, Mr Toast was very eager to show me everything and tell me all about his trip Wink

Here's a piccie of all the edible goodies, CraftADDChick picked all of my favourite American chocolates, whoppers, junior mints, york's peppermint patties, plus some maple candies and yuuuum coffee!

Check out Mr Toast's awesome new neon hat, he totally loves it and it's just in time for the weather getting cold!  Also pictured is some mardi gras necklaces, little squishy digger, some pencils, Massachusetts fridge magnet, Imax glasses, Red Sox beer cosy mmmmmm beer, and super cute baseball cap for Mr Toast.  Plus look at that froyo scoop, first thing I said when I saw it was that it looked just like Mr Toast which is just what CraftADDChick said in her letter! Grin

Mr Toast wearing his cool baseball cap!

Some shots of Mr Toast's fantastic scrapbook, I love it, it's very polished!!

I love that CraftADDChick lives in Worcester [US] and visited Gloucester [US], and I live in Gloucester [UK] and visited Worcester [UK], rofl!! Cheesy

Lots of information on Johnny Appleseed, including an apple recipe cookbook!

Some postcards, including a baked bean recipe one, nom nom, some stickers and a Red Sox pennant

Lots of leaflets and maps of where Mr Toast visited, plus a shiny new cent, a super cute glass ladybug, and weirdly enough a UK 20p which Mr Toast found on the streets of the US, how weird?!!

Thanks for a great swap CraftADDChick!

A little delayed since we've been back from Cornwall over 2 weeks now, but here's some piccies from Burton's camping holiday in Cornwall finally!

I had hoped to make both Mr H and Burton a sleeping bag for our camping trip, but alas I only had time to make Mr H's, so for this trip they had to share!  Hopefully next trip Burton will have his very own though  Cool

Tuesday we went to Truro, a little sightseeing, a little shopping, and a tour of Skinner's Brewery!

Wednesday we went to Padstow for my birthday.  Burton was a little worried about getting so close to the edge,  he didn't want to get swept out to sea, so Mr Loops gave him a hand!!

Thursday we went on another brewery tour, at St Austell brewery this time.  Burton had his first Cornish pasty here, which was the best we tasted in Cornwall!

Friday the weather forecast wasn't as good as it had been so we went on the Bodmin and Wenford steam railway to get out of the rain!

And then Burton and I had our first Cornish cream tea, yuuuuuum!!  Grin

Finally on our last day Sunday we did some sight-seeing and enjoyed a nice Sunday roast in Boscastle.

Lots more photos on Burton's blog!  Next up will probably be a couple of photos from the beer festival we went to this weekend, and I think next on the cards is probably another beer festival in Worcester in a fortnight where we shall be camping with friends for a couple of nights Wink

So to the first of mine and Burton's July camping adventures!  The first leg of our journey was to the village of Hay-on-Wye, famed for it's massive amount of bookshops and the literary festival held here annually.

Mmm sharing some iced coffee and a slice of courgette and lime cake with me after walking around the village, yummy!

Burton and I making a wish for nice weather for our weekend and following holiday!

Back at the campsite, conspiring with the fellas!

And playing cards with Spammy, Arnold and I

After packing up the tent we went to visit my parents who happened to be holidaying close by in a little cottage in the grounds of Brobury manor house and gardens.  Burton enjoyed walking around the grounds with us!

More piccies on Burton's blog of the Hay food festival, Hay castle, and piccies from Brobury grounds.  And the second leg of our camping holiday, to Cornwall, still to come!

On Sunday Burton came to support me running the Race for Life, which is a 5k charity event for Cancer Research.  Since in the past it has only been for women (I believe they do have men's races now too) it is themed pink, so Burton felt very comfortable!

I ran the race with my friend Kath and her friend Sam, though Kath darted off and left us in her dust!!

After finishing the race I let Burton try on my medal, kind of Wink

And tomorrow we're off on [camping] holiday so I shalln't be posting any photos for a couple of weeks, but I'll still be online intermittently!

Gosh, 2 beer festivals in a row, Burton is going to think we're a bunch of drunkards over here!!  <whispers> we are... shhhhh </whispers>

Here Burton is trying his first cider of the day, and browsing the list to decide what's next!

This weekend the beer festival was at one of our local pubs, The Aviator which is at Staverton Airport so Burton got to watch lots of aircraft going up and down.

Soaking up some of the booze with a nice dog, lol!

Burton says he's going tee total for a while now to try and detox, he's not used to all the drinking!!

The next day we had a bbq with Mr Loops' family.  Burton got to have more fun with the parrots...

... and played some word games with Mr Loops' mum and niece

Still catching up on photos.... so here we have Burton Barxley last weekend accompanying us to our first beer festival of the year in Pauntley!

We're big fans of Real Ales and Ciders, and are members of CAMRA so we like to go to a few Beer Festivals each year.

Here Burton is enjoying the Cotswold scenery and trying not to get too excited about the camping and beer! Wink

Burton amongst all the Ales, Lagers and Ciders (there were wines too, but we didn't partake of those), we were one of the first there so we got our pick of the pumps!!

Burton was kind enough to buy our first drinks for us since we put the tent up Grin

Enjoying a tipple with me!

And helping Mr Loops to scores the beers

Sunday hangover day!!  Oopsy, Burton did get a little squiffy and was feeling pretty worse for wear in the morning but after a little coffee and some of my breakfast he fully recovered thankfully!

Right, catching up with my photos, I've gotten a little behind so I have a backlog!!

So it looks like Burton has been making fast friends with some of my bunch of miscreants, in fact last week I came upstairs one day to find them building a fort, which eventually turned into a war situation, argh!  Mr Loops and I had to break it up in the end, but I think it was all in fun!

Then weekend before last my friend Spammy and I took Burton shopping and sightseeing in Cheltenham!  Here he is looking rather bemused sat between the Hare and the Minotaur Shocked

And admiring the Wishing Fish clock!  He says that next time we go I have to get a video of it to post as it moves and blows bubbles and all sorts every hour

After a tiring morning of shopping we went for Sunday lunch at The Swan, and here Burton is using my shawl as a kind of hammock high chair so that he can reach the table!

Still have Burton's camping and beer festival trip to delight you with, but I'll post that in a day or two Wink

Challenge: Meet the family

Well my family are over on the other side of the country, though hopefully Burton will get a chance to meet them in a few weeks as they're going to be staying in Hay-on-Wye at the same time that we're camping there handily!  So my challenge photo this week is of Burton meeting the in-laws, Mr Loops' Mum and Dad and their parrots (you can just about see Rex the African Grey just above Burton's head, but unfortunately Millie and Squeak got freaked and flew away from Burton!)
