1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Kiri, how I love thee... on: September 12, 2007 07:14:15 AM
Wow you did a great job, I'm working on a Kiri shawl right now for my mother as a Xmas gift, but man those repeats are taking forever!
You said you reduced the shawl by a couple of repeats, so did you only do 10 pattern repeats instead of 12?

That is so beautiful. I've been wanting to make a lacy shawl. Being a beginner I'm not sure that I'd be able to make something that delicate (also having 2 boys running around while I'm counting sitches doesn't help Wink ).
The Kiri shawl is my first lace project, so I'm a lace beginner too, but it is not too hard at all. I haven't counted stitches once I've got past the first repeat, because as you knit you can find and fix any mistakes you might as made.  The pattern is pretty easy to memorize once you get into the swing of things.

I'd love a pattern if you feel like writing one up please! I need these big, loose hats like yours to fit my abundance of curly hair.

You look really cute with the colors you chose for your hat, great job!
