I did!
Thank you so much!

I can't wait to make mine =] It'll probably be a few weeks before I can get any fabric, but I'll definitely post pictures when it's done.

Do you have to have a serger for this dress?
I know it's prefered, but could I just use the zig-zag stitch on my machine?

Cute dress!
I live near ECU.
Well, a little ways away, but still pretty close.
Swansboro? Jacksonville?
Around there.

So, I've been lurking around for a while, and I've finally worked up the courage to make an infinity dress.

But, I have a question before I start.
How much fabric should I use?
I'm about 5'3, and I weigh about 130.
I'm pretty petite, but I have trouble gauging how much fabric I need when I'm making things.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Any Ideas on making a Toga? on: September 21, 2008 09:19:00 AM
So, a few of my friends and I are making our Togas for homecoming, and we wanted them to be unique. Not just sheets tied around ourselves like everyone else's.

I know how to sew, but I'm pretty dry on ideas right now. I was thinking about doing an Infinity Dress, but I want more ideas before I buy the fabric.

Any help?

Where in the outer banks do you live?  I live in Swansboro, which is right next to Emerald Isle.  Which is right down the coast from the outer banks.

and your dress is so pretty.  I love the zebra striped fabric.
