3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Recycled fabric cuffs - quilted, Bedazzled, and corsetified. on: August 18, 2010 03:05:11 PM
I've been making a bunch of things these past two weeks while my boyfriend is on the other side of the state working.
Here's a few cuff bracelets I made.

This first one was inspired by a threadbanger video I saw a long time ago... Just a bunch of left over scrap fabrics "quilted' together. wood beads are recycled from an old broken belt.

These were made mostly just for practice. Grandma gave me all her old grommet thingies... And even though we don't have the machine or any of the correct tools, I was determined to figure a way to use them. And my other grandma gave me a Bedazzler. lol Thses are both made with recycled and failed tie-dyed jeans.

The suede strip is also recycled from an old belt.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Couple o' shirts - Including my first corset! on: August 18, 2010 12:27:38 PM
I've almost reached insanity! My boyfriend has been working hard on the other side of the state for a few weeks, And I've been so bored and lonely without him. the first couple of days were pretty bad.. I became lazy and watched doctor who all day... accompanied by a gallon of icecream and chocolate.
Well, The wonderful beau came back for an evening to surprise me, And I felt so bad that he was working hard painting and I was just being a lazy mope. So the past few days or so I've been working on a few new outfits (now that he's making a little extra cash we can actually go out... and now I have a reason to get dressed up! lol)

I received a giant bottle of grommet thingies from my grandma a few weeks  back, so i decided it's finally time for me to take a stab at making a corset ( my SO Loves them on me (: )
I'm not entire pleased with the outcome. I need more practice at getting the right shapes an measurements, but I'll get it eventually.
The wrinkles by the hips aren't usually there, but I'm all bloated and yucky right now, it's not fitting like it usually would any other time of the month. lol

And a flowy flowery shirt to take on vacation next week! (: This was pretty easy to make. I took a giant rectangle, folded it in half, sewed up the side halfway (the open part is the arm part) Cut the teardrop out for the neck, and added and simple waistband. Only took like 15 min to cut and make.

Thanks for looking!
Comments and criticism are greatly appreciated! (:
Have a nice day/evening!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Hot pink flowery Purse on: July 28, 2010 09:23:10 PM
First note - Craigslist FTW!  Grin
My aunt called me up a few days ago and told me she had some scrap fabric that I might like... "Some" was more like "An entire TRUCK full" of fabric. This was heaven on earth for me! golly gee, there were piles upon piles up to the ceiling of left over fabric. And She got for -get this- FREE on craigslist. And what I saw wasn't even half of it. She stuffed her van full, and still has to make another trip to pick the rest up! Anyways, I pulled out a small stack of fabric, and immediately went home to make this purse. I owe a friend a purse, and i thought this fabric would suit her perfectly. Too bright and girly for me anyways.  Wink

alright, i'll just get on to a few photos and stop rambling about my excitement in all this free fabric.

By happy accident the flowers on the straps line up almost perfectly!

IT was a pretty easy sew, I did it all - cutting, measuring, sewing and ironing- in about 2 1/2 hours. II made a few purses like this before ( https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=254005.0 ) and I've pretty much got the hang of it. no patterns, just eyeballing it.

And as always, I'd really love to hear some feedback, and definitely critiques.  Thanks for taking a peek at my new purse.  Cheesy
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Hemp wrapped stone necklaces! finally! on: July 20, 2010 01:05:42 PM
Years ago my father picked a bunch of stones off the Lake Michigan shore and had 'em polished. I remember playing with these treasures when I was younger. I just found them in our basement a couple of days ago, and knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do with them.

I think they are just the coolest looking things ever!

I've been making a lot of hemp knick knacks lately, since michael's 40% off coupons are coming regularly in the mail, and summer sales make it even better.   Getting the knots right were hard at first, but after making a few I've got it pretty down pat. I've made eight of them in the past three days - and have plenty more stones to wrap! lol   Cheesy

What do you think?
All comments and criticism are welcome and greatly appreciated. Smiley
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / my first kanzashis! on: June 25, 2010 09:29:57 AM
Yes, I saw all the cute kanzashis floating around craftster, and just had to try my hand at it. IT took my quite a bit of googling and youtubeing tutorials on how to make the different kinds of petals. and after discovering all the videos were to fuzzy to understand and the text tutes were to confusing, I just fiddled around for a while.

I really like this one. I stole the vintage button from grandmother.
Fabric is salvaged from one of her skirts that ripped.

My first one didn't turn out too well, in my opinion. but the button I found makes it slightly more acceptable.  Wink
The fabric is from and old purse lining.

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My first ever - Tam/Beanie/hat on: June 06, 2010 07:18:49 AM
I was taught at the age of 7 how to crochet, thanks to my lovely grandmother. I've been fiddling around with it ever since. I've never successfully made anything accept scarfs and washcloths. and usually even those und up getting frogged because I can't stand looking at their deformed little selves. lol. but i'm actually pleased with this one... for the most part.

What do you think?

Comments and criticism GREATLY appreciated.  Cheesy

9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Recycled Cereal Box Gift Boxes on: May 29, 2010 04:58:47 PM
I know this isn't a new or amazing project, but i think it's at least noteworthy. maybe it'll be a help for someone. Smiley

so these are my recycled gift boxes. I hated spending so much money on gift boxes for shipping jewelry, so i made my own.
unique, Free, and Green! yay recycling!
not to mention, they're super easy too. I've made about fifty of them so far. in just one day.

Basically a square, cut four slits(the bold orange lines)then fold (the dotted lines), and glue.
easy enough, eh?
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / mep jewelry keeping me occupied. on: May 18, 2010 04:35:32 PM
This has kept my busy during my spare time when i'm not shooting around town looking for potential cars and jobs. (and free furniture for the new apartment - what a hassle!)
Anyways, less rambling, more pictures!

Thanks for looking! comments and criticism GREATLY appreciated!
