1  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Different kitty condom bed tute? on: September 29, 2007 12:28:18 PM
Does anyone have a different tute than the one posted for the kitty condom bed?
is the one I'm speaking of.  I'm a visual person so the directions get me all messed up.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Little pink rose on: August 11, 2007 07:34:14 PM
Ok, so I just got housing (military, moved to a new base) last week.  They told me I can do whatever I want as to gardening, YAY!  There was this pitiful rose bush that hadn't been pruned in forever and was in baaaad shape, so I decided to take charge and make her healthy.
Dh  deleted the pictures of the rose bush before I saved it from its un-tended self, so all I have is the picture of this really pretty bright pink rose bud that came into full bloom today, yay!

3  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Space Cowboy rocket ship toddler shirt on: July 02, 2007 08:05:51 AM
So I decided to try my hand at the AWESOME designs in the back of my Sublime Stitching book (which I'm in love with).  I drew on the letters free hand with a black eyeliner.  It's not that great, this is the first thing I've embroidered in oh, 14 years.  Anyway, without further delay...

The rocket!

Ok, so the "c" is a lil wonkey...

action shot! for some reason the flash only went off in this one
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Contact Paper+random pics=New awesome tattoo desk! Pics work! (adult material) on: June 29, 2007 08:41:51 AM
So dh and I got bored and decided to use the rest of the contact paper I had from trying to make a playing card tote... He did most of the work, I helped with placement.  And ofcourse, I forgot before pics.

and the bottom half

It's not as blue as the flash makes it seem...smarty pants me had it on the wrong light setting.
5  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / yummy microwavable vegan foods! on: June 22, 2007 10:41:33 AM
Ok, so I'm an omni, but I do dabble in the vegan/veggie foods.  I was shopping for (ick) frozen foods, seeing as the movers got my pots and pans, so I saw some organic foods from Amy's(brand) Shepard's Pie and Shells and Cheese (the big stuffed shells).  They were AWESOME!! The pie was vegan, all it needed was a pinch of salt and pepper.
They also make really good spinach stuffed shells, but I don't remember if they were veggie (definately not vegan).
Dunno if you can get Amy's out of the US, but it's worth a look!  Not too expensive, and if you need a quickie meal in a few minutes, it's great.
6  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Gummy Bears for veggies? on: June 20, 2007 04:28:27 AM
Ok, so I have a good friend that's a vegetarian, and I'm sending her a small package for her birthday, but I don't think that gummies are ok to eat since stuff like Jello has animal bits in it.  Could someone help me out?  Thanks so much ^_^
7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / The Simpson's Movie Popcorn bag on: June 20, 2007 12:26:10 AM
In German!  Went to see Rise of the Silver Surfer Monday at the Kino (German theatre), and my popcorn came in a spiffy bag with stuff for The Simpson's Movie on it!  It's not at all greasy or stained.
So...what to do with it??
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Help! Sides for Playing Card tote on: June 18, 2007 02:21:20 PM
Ok, so I had a deck, and contact paper, so I *had* to try to make one, and winged it...and now I'm stuck.
I can't figure out how to do the sides so they fit the bottom properly

I tried looking at some tutes but I just confused myself more.
And cutting down the bottom card and folding it up won't work, I tried that on some extras and it didn't pan out.
So if anyone could help me figure out what to do, I'd really appreciate it.
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Gator-first self-patterned plush! (pic heavy) on: June 11, 2007 10:39:52 AM
Ok, he's a lil lumpy and looks a lot more like a catapillar with a deformed head and legs than a gator, but I made him up as I went along.  My cam was dead when I was making him so I don't have any in progess pics.
I have no idea how to do invisible stitches so the ones on his nose show ><
Hand embroidered the eyes, nose and mouth.

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Betty Page, Sailor Jerry, Pin-up Decoupage Cigar Box purse (pic heavy!) on: June 08, 2007 03:08:01 PM
Ok, so I found this purse as I'm packing...I'm not finished with it since I lost
A)the handle, and
B) the screws for the hinges.  Go me!
No pics of it in progress, started this over a year ago, never got around to clear coating it and putting it back together.
Also, some of the pics are really yellow(GRR!!!) since the lighting in my house suxors and my flash was bleeding the colour out of everything, I had to settle.
I put a lot of time into it, de-constructed it first, then started with HOT pink tissue paper, layerd zebra on top (for pink zebra, looks more like sunburnt), and let it dry, slapped on the front

painted my name myself with paint marker, hand drew the swords and hearts and the two yellow roses (I'm a Texas girl).
Close up of one rose

So then I did the backside with some pin-up girls from a Elvgren daily calendar, and two Betty pics from some mags I have (I scanned them, I could never tear up those mags!)

inside lined with black tissue paper, then coloured the pics on the inside with Prismacolours

The mermaid (my son and I) is on the top, the pin-up and sparrows on the bottom

And once that was said and done, I did the sides with hearts and daggers

and cherry blossom/dogwood (I interbred the two) flowers and petals, coloured with paint marker.

Well, that's about it for my first post Grin
Let me know what y'all think.
