1  Re: Thousands of crayons?? in What the heck can I do with THIS? by sprinklez on: August 11, 2011 02:51:11 PM
I'm insanely jealous! I make art pieces with crayons. Here's an example:

Craftster image hosting rotated the photo for some reason but you get the idea.... I hot-glued the crayons to a canvas then heated them with a heat gun.

4  Giraffes are my favorite animal :] in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by sprinklez on: March 06, 2010 12:09:48 PM
Indeed they are.
I drew this partially because I love giraffes, and partially to help the effort at One Million Giraffes, a website where a dude is trying to collect one million (hand-made or drawn) giraffes by 2011. You should make one too, I want him to reach his goal. :]
Anyway, here is my giraffe. I drew it with a few different pencils on really cheap paper. XD

5  Re: Altering Paper Crafts Supply Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by sprinklez on: February 09, 2010 08:57:36 PM
Sorry I took so long to post in the gallery, guys(girls!). Here are my two packages.

From dinkime:

A few of my favorites:

From nessie:

A few of my favorites:

I love everything in both my packages. I was so pleased to receive them. They each contained things I love, things I've wanted, and things I never thought about but I now can't wait to use. Thank you so so much, dinkime and nessie. I hope you guys liked my packages as much!

By the way, does anyone else have the feeling that they just don't want to cut into all this lovely stuff to start altering? I kind of just want to stare at it all day (even though I need to finish up my inchies for the inchie swap and this could be useful! haha).

6  Re: Inchies - it's a new year! Sendouts Feb. 16 in The Swap Gallery by sprinklez on: February 09, 2010 08:16:33 PM
Here are my inchies from hahnasay. I love them! The lighting in my room is complete crap, though, so I'll try to get a better picture in some natural light another time.

7  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 22 in New Swap Theme Ideas by sprinklez on: February 01, 2010 08:51:45 PM
I'm not sure that anything I could make would be good enough for this swap...I am primarily an ATC-maker.

I was thinking flower headbands, but as imafundork is already offering flower hairclips I'm not sure that would be ok. Of course my flowers are quite different, felt with a button center, and they would be on headbands rather than clips....

thoughts? especially from imafundork, as I wouldn't want to steal your idea!

ETA: here's a (rather poor quality--sorry, no light right now!) picture of what I mean. Is it sufficiently different?  Huh

8  Re: Ongoing ATC Swap -January '10 in The Swap Gallery by sprinklez on: January 25, 2010 06:28:02 PM
I got my book-themed ATC from Kartiana!

It has such a nice texture!

And my wist-inspired ATC from raeraethejetplane. I certainly love rainbows Cheesy

So pretty!

Sorry the pictures are at an odd angle. I don't know what happened.  Huh
I'll try to get the scanner working so you all can see them better.

9  Altered Journal in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by sprinklez on: January 11, 2010 06:29:06 PM
I found a "backstreet boys" spiral notebook in my old stuff, and I was excited because it hadn't been written in! The cover would not do, though, so I removed the wire and changed it into a pretty distressed journal. Tongue

The back:

And After I finished, I realized I'd made it so the paper was upside-down! Oops! I don't mind, though. Here's a view of that, and how I aged the edges of the pages.

Sorry about the mediocre pictures, I'm still getting used to my new camera. :]
Also, I didn't take the pictures two years ago...I'm gonna need to set the date on the camera. XD

10  The beginnings of all things are small in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by sprinklez on: January 23, 2008 01:18:33 PM

I just wish the picture came out a little better....

I embroidered and beaded this card. The quote is Cicero.

Hope you like it. :]
