it's the same pattern as the day of the dead dress, without the bottom tier that makes it a dress. i can't make the matching pantaloons i wanted because i'm out of the Fantasia fabric, and it's discontinued... so sad.

I saw this fabric and HAD to see it on my baby's bum. I still have to throw it in the dryer to close the seams so they're waterproof, so I can't put it on her yet.
 the fleece inner fabric doesn't match in any way, it's just what i had on hand. all i cared about was what i'd see when she's wearing it!
 the ruffle fabric is like a knit fishnet with the ruffles sewn to it, supposedly dry clean only, definitely not diaper making material. but if it frays or comes apart it's the other parts of the diaper, the waterproof layer and the fleece that actually matter, so it'll still function regardless. i just HAD to make it...

I made these for my daughter a few weeks ago. I bought 6 yards of this glittery day of the dead fabric, (yea for alexander henry!) and i wanted to make her things she wouldn't outgrow...

i haven't been on here very long, and this is the 1st time i've posted anything...
  i made this dress for my 5 month old daughter...and a matching hat and diaper. the hat needed the pink day of the dead fabric where the underside of the brim is white, i don't know why i didn't realize that it would show so much when i made it. and i still haven't bothered with the button on the back, i want to find something i haven't found yet i guess.
 i made it for her to wear in the children's parade at this year's national rainbow gathering, but none of those pictures really show the dress very well...anyways, here's my daughter and her dress!
 (and it's hard to take a picture of an infant in a dress, they can't stand and pose! and my camera takes horrible indoor photos  )
