1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New Sterling and Copper Pieces- on: July 21, 2010 04:41:46 PM
I'm a metalworker, so I've been at the bench getting ready for shows.
I'm awful at making multiples, I try to avoid it unless I have to, thinking if I have one I don't need another. I can't even stand matching things for earrings, I just compulsively avoid it. So I'm forcing myself to make duplicates, I think I'm getting used to it... maybe... Does anyone else share this affliction???

New Poppies made with sterling silver and recycled copper, and other pieces too-

Stuff I made last night and today-

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Sterling and Resin Stacking Rings- on: May 11, 2010 02:16:21 PM
How long has it been since I posted a resin related anything on Craftster?!  Roll Eyes
I made the  bands with 16 gauge sterling silver wire, and filled the bezels with micas and glitters I had sitting in a Samsonite case for the last couple years, calling my name... It's the 1st time in 2-3 years I was up casting resin at 2 in the morning after Amelia went to sleep, and now I want to hoard them all forever! Actually I need to do some math and order supplies for summer shows!

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My favorite thing today, a BIG copper poppy- on: April 17, 2010 06:36:31 PM
I formed it by hand, from copper sheet, after drawing the Poppy with Sharpie. The balls are made from scraps of copper leftover from cutting out the flower, heated with the torch till they ball up. It's the biggest thing I ever heated up, ( you heat it up to soften the metal, annealing it, so it's not too brittle or hard to bend...) and it was really warm working with it! Fun though!

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Mother's Day Stacking Rings :) on: April 15, 2010 06:59:54 PM
Sterling silver stacking rings, they were Amelia's idea! I hand cut the hearts from sterling sheet and hammered sterling wire for the rings, soldered them together, oxidized, and voila!

5  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Earth Day! Recycled Beer Bottle Coasters and candleholders... on: April 14, 2010 07:22:50 AM
The new candle holders are in the kiln for a few more hours, so I can't photograph them together yet, but I cut the tops and bottoms off brown beer bottles for the coasters, and the bottoms of the bottles are in the kiln hopefully draping into votive holders similar to the one here from last year-

and just for the record, the tops and sections of the necks go into necklaces...

wish the batch of candleholders in the kiln luck!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Summer Circus Collection! on: March 10, 2010 06:29:34 AM
Getting ready for the Spring Indie Garage Sale! and I'm soooo ready for ALL the snow to melt!
A variety of vintage Lucite and sterling silver, everything with a pretty back is set in a stepped bezel so the back is visible.
I wear an eyeball ring and a black/gray/white necklace every day since making them!

and these are made from recycled tires, just don't ask me HOW!?

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Tattoo Inspired Heart Necklace on: February 21, 2010 03:08:40 PM

8  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Mardi Gras Pendants! on: January 17, 2010 09:57:37 AM
Hand etched dichroic glass, kiln fired, hand drilled and fire polished in the kiln a second time! Shiny! Love, love, love them!

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / The kilns weren't hot enough, so I bought a torch! on: January 14, 2010 04:43:20 PM
I don't think I've posted on this board in awhile, been on the glass board, hi!

Title pretty much sums it up! Sterling silver, copper and brass, mostly rings. I made the glass cab in the bubble ring also!

This one is PMC-

Empty bezels for resin-

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / and my Sunday project, still curb furniture- on: January 03, 2010 04:28:36 PM
Another curb piece, It's missing two knobs, so I think I'm going to get 2 glass ones tomorrow, to go with the ones on all our doors in the house, if the snow will let us out of here?! it's very squat and deep, it has a lot of attitude for a little table!

Near the hammer is a little white sticker that said $1.OO, apparently they couldn't even get rid of it at that price.

It has the streaky brown layer, a yellowish layer, a blue layer, a gray layer, and a GOLD layer. Plus the laminate top had many layers topped with gray, not sure WHAT they had been using it for with the top like that?!
The laminate stopped before reaching the back, I guess there was something there? I'm adding trim across the back to cover the back left corner, possibly, if it doesn't get too Frankenstein on me! otherwise I'm happy with it the way it is, with knobs.

It mostly holds Wii-motes, camera cords and little electronic things Amelia leaves alone if they're out of sight.
