1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Alexa Ludeman Antler Mittens in Chocolate on: December 31, 2010 02:25:07 PM
Decided to do a little post-Christmas knitting for myself  Wink and knit these up in the recommended yarn (Blue Sky Alpaca Worsted Hand Dyes) after reading endless reviews about how lovely, cushy, sturdy, and luxurious it is to work with -- boy, were they right! This yarn was DEFINITELY worth the price (about $18 a skein), and it definitely makes these mittens what they are: thick, warm, and cushy, just perfect for the way-too-cold-for-me Berkeley weather I'll be faced with when I go back to school mid-January. Here's the link to Alexa Ludeman's easy to follow pattern (http://alexaludeman.com/pattern-antler-mittens/) -- such a lovely knit, and so fun to actually make something for myself!  Grin

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / i must make this! any ideas on a pattern? indian motif bikini on: April 21, 2008 06:07:37 PM
ok, so i saw this bikini -- i've been looking around for a different, risque, exotic looking pattern and this is it! -- but i have no idea how to make it. i'm a knitter, but i am willing to bridge the gap and make peace with my crochet hooks in order to whip this baby up for bikini season. are there any experienced crocheters who know what kind of stitches these are or if there is any possible way i could make this without having a pattern? better yet, maybe the woman who made this will see it and tell me her secrets.......

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Urban Outfitters Santorini Dress on: June 13, 2007 04:29:20 PM
i love this dress..... and, conveniently, it looks really easy to replicate. i'm wondering two things: a) does anyone know where i can get a similiar pattern? and b) is it just me, or does this dress just look like a couple of rectangles that weren't attatched all the way, and have a ribbon running through the top?  Huh either way, it looks cute and fun. thoughts??? i'd appreciate some feedback seeing as this is the first post i've actually started (sad that it's so boring...)  Smiley
