1  Kick-@$$ fuzzy pants! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by nerfulness on: December 13, 2008 10:46:38 PM
Howdy doody, everybody. It's been a while since I've been around.

So Jo-anns had a Black Friday sale that just couldn't be beat. Polar fleece was $2.99 a yard, even the patterned stuff, plus you got 20% off your entire purchase.

I originally went to get stuff for making christmas presents, but then I saw this fabric and did the math, realizing that I could have a pair of polar fleece pants for $3.60.

Hells YEAH.

I whipped these up using Simplicity pattern 3640. It took about 2 hours; or rather, it would have taken 2 hours if I'd worked at it straight, and the internet didn't keep distracting me. As it was, it took about 2 days to finish Undecided

BUT... now I have awesome fuzzy pants.

The awesome fuzzy pants.

A close up of the fabric.

Me wearing my fuzzy pants in my very messy room.

2  pretty summer dresses in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by nerfulness on: April 22, 2008 08:45:46 PM
These are actually from last summer, but it's finally gotten warm enough that I can pull them out of storage and wear them again.

This is from some McCalls pattern. The first is just made out of plain unbleached linen, and unfortunately requires the wearing of either a slip or white undies due to see-through-ness.

The second is made out of some cotton fabric I got at walmart for about $2 before they got rid of their fabric and craft section (those losers.) In case you can't tell through the blurriness, it has white paisley on top of the blue.

3  Another ballgown in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by nerfulness on: April 18, 2008 02:06:44 PM
My sewing machine is broken  Cry so now I have to get my crafty fix by posting all the stuff I have made here on craftster.

This was supposed to go only a little bit past my knees, so I could wear it for latin dances.

Oops. In any case, it's pretty, and a lot of fun to dance in because of the poofyness. Though it doesn't flatter my tuckus very well...

4  My german bar-maid outfit in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by nerfulness on: April 15, 2008 06:16:23 PM
I finally took some more pictures of things I have made and will put them up as I have time. This outfit I lovingly call my german bar-maid outfit, cuz that's pretty much what it looks like. It's a corset vest and a circle skirt made of fake dupioni silk, and a peasant shirt made of some unknown synthetic fabric.

I have a lot of great stories about this dress, like when I wore it to a ren faire and then was stuck in it for 2 hours on the side of the highway when the '69-'70 frankenbug we were driving in broke down.

Or when I won first place in polka at the U of Iowa dance contest in it.

polka + german bar maid = MADE OF WIN

5  My well-worn ballgown in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by nerfulness on: March 04, 2008 07:17:01 PM
I joined up here a while ago, but for some inexplicable reason never posted anything myself. Eventually I'll get up all the stuff I've made that I think is cool, starting with:

I made this over winter break last year, and I think it is my favorite (and most well-worn) outfit. Here I'm wearing it at one of the dances my ballroom team put on.

Here's me actually wearing it at competition.
