Ha ha, brilliant!  Hope it works Smiley  My DD didn't quit until she was 7 (same as me, which is why I wasn't too fussed). It gets a bit much after a while, and if she's getting sick then Tongue  You could sell these by the ton Cheesy
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cordelia/Bufy/Navajo cross stitch on: June 06, 2010 01:26:10 PM
Mix my genres? Hell yes. Made this as a birthday present for my brother; he loves Buffy, always looks after others before himself, and is currently exiled from his beloved New Mexico. All boxes ticked Smiley
Kind of copied the border from a Navajo woven cushion cover I found a pic of - I think the pattern planning took longer than the actual stitching!
With thanks to @radicalxstitch for the font, which I adapted only slightly (to make it smaller)

Thanks for looking.  It's by no means perfect - I'm still new to this cross-stitch thing, but I'm loving the possibilities!
4  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Need to make Super Mario or Pokemon cake, and ideas? on: March 31, 2010 12:46:20 AM
OK, she loves Charmander (Pokemon), so here goes o_O
His tail's on fire anyway, so I'm sure I could work that in, candle-wise
5  COOKING / Dessert / Need to make Super Mario or Pokemon cake, and ideas? on: March 30, 2010 02:38:39 PM
I always allow my kids to choose their birthday cake theme (nothing too definite, I'm not brilliant!), and have suddenly come up against a request for a "Super Mario or Pokemon" cake.  Sadly, I've never played Super Mario, or seen Pokemon (terrible, I know - now if it was LOTR, or Marvel comics, or Miyazaki, I'm your geek, but...) so I'm a bit out on a limb here - any ideas?  Nothing too complicated please!

[edit: Just for ref, here are some of the cakes I've done in the past.  I'm no expert, but I'm not a complete klutz, either!
LOTR request became the One Ring (yes, the runes are accurate!)
Harry Potter request became Fawkes the Phoenix
Doctor Who request became a TARDIS]
and so on
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: WoW Baby! on: February 23, 2010 01:10:00 PM
Holy C*** you handstitched these? They are amazing!  I did some gamer bibs once for a friend's baby, but I did them with a Sharpie because I'm lame.  Wow, in both senses Smiley
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Remember Mr. Happy? on: February 09, 2010 12:03:14 PM
Ha ha, yes where have all the "boring" names gone, eh?   Wink

These are great, and your little story made me think: you should so do a Mr Men quilt, and look up all the baby names that have the meanings.  Stay with me here, you found Asher=Happy, but what would Mr Grumpy be called by 21st Century parents?  What is Hebrew for Strong? Or Small, Greedy, Clever? Or Bouncy? LOL
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Not found? on: February 07, 2010 12:52:22 PM
OMG this is hilarious!  I hope you don't mind but I have to make one, right now, for my brother. This made me LOL.  Pure genius  Grin
9  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Re: Needing Serious Steampunk Help on: August 07, 2009 02:33:34 PM
Thank you for all this, this is exactly the kind of question/quetions I was going to post! I have never made clothes in my life, but want the perfect steampunk outfit for a themed fancy dress party.
Hope your ball went well!  Any pics of what you wore?
