11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: An Xmas Ornament in a Week Gallery! on: December 01, 2007 06:12:07 AM
Checkout this total cuteness I got from bruisedpeach22!!

The bird ornament is reversible and she used a great sparkly felt on both sides that doesn't come through too well in the photo. I am going to have to find some for some of my Christmas crafty presents this year.

The knitted/crochet(?) ball ornment is adorable and so super soft. My cats would have a field day loving on it with thier tongues, so up on a high branch it goes!

Thanks so much, bruisedpeach22. You were a great partner!! And so much thanks to Sundayafternoonhousewife for organizing!!!
Happy Holidays!

I wish I could post a tute, but since I got the instructions from a magazine they are subject to the copywrite. I had actually originally posted just a picture that shows the assembly instructions, but it had to be taken down.
I would check your library for that magazine. That's where I found it.
Another alternative would be to order that particular issue from the publisher. Usually the price on off the shelve issues is pretty resonable (around ~$5).
Please post some pics if you end up making this. I would love to see what someone else's looks like.  Smiley
Happy Holidays!!

Mine got out the door last night just in the nick of time to get to the PO before they closed.
Funny thing about a 1 week swap...if you project has some hiccups you barely have time to work them out. I had a couple snags and had to recover as best I could. No time for a do-over.   Grin
I hope bruisedpeach22 likes what I made...

Hey folks. Got the cutest recipe box from Whiskey. She and I decided to do a recipe box instead of a book because we like using index cards. The pics are super cute and she included 25 tasty looking vegetarian recipes. Can't wait to try the Sweet Potato Chowder. Thanks Whiskey!

Hey folks. Whiskey and I were both running late with our shipments. She has mine at her office and mine from her is on the way. We both prefer recipe cards over recipe books, so we decided to make each other a recipe card box that would accomodate 3x5 in cards. Hopefully we will have pics posted soon. I love all the stuff I have seen so far!!!

I love this! My husband and I were just coming up with ideas for one for our two kitties. I have one question. How much rope did you need? The idea we have consists of a 3'x3" pole with rope wrapped around it like yours. I'm guessing 20'? But I don't know if that will be enough, or too much.

Hmmm. I wish I had kept track. I am afraid that I don't know. I had part of a leftover spool of sisal that I started with and then bought another spool that I didn't use all of. Also would depend on the thickness you use. I think you will just have to play it by ear. Sorry I wasn't more help...

I feel like this swap was made for me. I have always loved cooking and playing with recipes, but when my husband was diagnosed with celiac disease (gluten intolerance) 2 years ago my whole cooking perspective changed. I cook at home for almost every meal and so I am constantly looking for healthy inspiration.

I can't wait to get my partner!!!

Have you looked at the Gluten-Free Girl blog? There are often great gluten-free recipes there.

Fantastic website! Thanks for the tip!

Follow up - my rascally kittens do not ever go inside the boxes. They love climbing up the outside and the top is now the favorite sleeping spot in the whole house, but not one of my 3 likes to go inside the boxes. Still a great addition to thier fun times.

It seems like a lot of people are really loving this magazine. I know there are a couple more projects from this current issue that I would like to try and see what others come up with. Looks like you can get a subscription to it from Better Homes and Gardens. 2 years, 8 issues, $20.

As much as I like it, I am a cheapskate. I will continue to just read it at my local library and occasionally purchase as needed for any projects I want to do.   Grin

I am so glad you all like the cat condo. If anyone else takes a stab at the same plan or a modification I would love to see your take on it.
