1  Hands-free Baby Costume in Halloween Costumes by Miss. Cellaneous on: November 02, 2009 09:16:04 AM
Coming up with a costume for a small fry was challenging. Our daughter is 10 months old, but we wanted her to go trick or treating with her cousins who are 6 and 10. We thought about doing a stroller costume, but then inspiration hit for a costume based around using our Bjorn Baby Frontpack.

Meet Libby the Potted Plant! She was a huge hit. Can’t wait for next year!

So many thanks to Buckeyebeadgirl for this totally cute desk organizer and tissue box. So totally cute and the colors are just perfect!! There she is, finishing up her vet degree, prepping for a move, and she still took the time to make me this perfect pretty! I absolutely love it and it is very much my style!   Grin

And, of course, decked out with all my goodies!

Buckeyebeadgirl, you're the best!!

It looks like my partner never got a chance to post pics of what I sent to her, so I am going to go ahead and post pics.   Grin

I was pretty pleased with the way this turned out. We had decided to exchand recipe card boxes instead of books since we both use 3x5 cards. I couldn't find a good sized recipe card box to embellish, so I used a photo box. It gave me the opportunity to create a section for extra pens and cards. I thought it would look good on a bookcase or something. My partner indicated that her favorite colors included brown and teal so I tried to incorporate that. The photo box was already covered in felt, so I peeled the felt back and painted the inside of the box green. Then I made the box partition and covered it with matching ribbon. I included about 25 recipes and some extra pens and cards. I think she like it.  Smiley

4  Re: An Xmas Ornament in a Week Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Miss. Cellaneous on: December 01, 2007 06:12:07 AM
Checkout this total cuteness I got from bruisedpeach22!!

The bird ornament is reversible and she used a great sparkly felt on both sides that doesn't come through too well in the photo. I am going to have to find some for some of my Christmas crafty presents this year.

The knitted/crochet(?) ball ornment is adorable and so super soft. My cats would have a field day loving on it with thier tongues, so up on a high branch it goes!

Thanks so much, bruisedpeach22. You were a great partner!! And so much thanks to Sundayafternoonhousewife for organizing!!!
Happy Holidays!

Hey folks. Got the cutest recipe box from Whiskey. She and I decided to do a recipe box instead of a book because we like using index cards. The pics are super cute and she included 25 tasty looking vegetarian recipes. Can't wait to try the Sweet Potato Chowder. Thanks Whiskey!

6  Luxury Cat Condo Extraordinare in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by Miss. Cellaneous on: June 06, 2007 07:54:43 AM
In the last year or so I have started getting interesting in working with wood. Up to now I haven't ever done anything from a plan (mainly I just hammer planks of wood together at right angles and voila...we have a table). However, I couldn't pass this up.

I was flipping through this magazine:

When I saw this picutre:

It says right on the piture "Make It", so I did. Here is the outcome:

A similar cat condo purchased from a pet store or online runs anywhere from $175-$300. The total cost for this project was $70. A large part of that cost ($24) was the carpet. I purchased cheap bath mats from Menard's and cut them to fit because I wanted all different colors and textures. If you have leftover carpet, then this could be an even cheaper project. Just goes to show, crafting isn't just good times...it is also fiscally responsible.   Grin

7  Re: I *heart* the library swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by Miss. Cellaneous on: June 06, 2007 07:36:09 AM
Finally got my pics all sorted out. Balletfreak made me some fabulous items!
-Etched glass vase/cup the designs for one of my fave books "To Sail Beyond the Sunset". The etching shows a boat in front with a setting sun behind.
-Reading oriented drink coster (fits the etched glass cup perfectly). Shows a woman reading and says "Intelligent"
-Book mark with handmade beads of tiny books with my fave authors names on the books.
-An altered book with a hide-away compartment in the back.
-A book purse!!!

A close up of the bookmark with tiny, tiny bead. How adorable!

Interior of the book purse. I love, love, love it!!

Thank you so much Balletfreak!! You were a great swap partner!!

8  Fabulous Felt embellished totes-flapper girl and turntable in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Miss. Cellaneous on: January 05, 2005 08:14:35 AM
I made these great bags for a couple of crafty ladies I know who tote their knitting around in kroger plastic grocery bags. They were super easy to make. See below!

I used RIT dye on some plain white Tote bags that I got from Michael's. The flapper and the turntable images came from a website (www.chucklescentral.com). I simply cut the shapes out of felt and hotglued them onto the bag. I am sure that it wouldn't stand up to a washing machine, but for a lightly used tote I think they look uber cool.
