Oh weird, I'd uploaded it but forgot to link to it! Here's the yellow felted bowl that fluffybaka sent me. Smiley

Okay, are you ready for the best gallery post OF ALL TIME? I received from fluffybaka, who went WAY overboard so this is going to be really image intense. I feel like I should send a follow up package!

The first thing that caught my eye were these knitted socks. I put them on and my boyfriend pointed out the subtle Cheshire cat pattern that can be seen at certain angles. I totally wouldn't have noticed and when I found it, IT BLEW MY MIND.

Do you see the cat?!

This mushroom potholder is pretty awesome too!

Felted hatter pocketbook purse in my favorite colours!

A fascinator with removable lace! Fascinating!

So, I'm obsessed with this teacup pincushion. I tried to get a brighter picture of it but it created so many shadows. This picture doesn't do it justice at all, it rocks.

Stitch markers! I don't know how to use them yet since I'm a noob, but I can't wait to learn how now. Wink

Not to mention the plethora of jewelry she made me...

(I was looking around for this one because I knew something was missing, then I realized I wore it out today!)

She even included supplies! Crazy!

I love it all! Seriously fluffybaka, you went above and beyond for this swap and I love everything you made. <3 Opening this package was like digging out of Doraemon's pocket, because it was just endless. Thanks so much! (PS - do you happen to know what the additives in the bottom right of the last picture are? They're unmarked.)

3  My "I'm really excited for spring!" dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by fluxxii on: February 21, 2010 07:23:14 PM
I love this because it's my first piece of wearable clothing! I've never really sewn anything before, but now I know that I can make something like this I'm just so excited to keep learning and making stuff. Smiley

It came out surprisingly well given my lack of sewing knowledge, buuuut I got impatient at the end and accidentally cut the back way higher than the front. Oops!

Here's a picture of the back:

I didn't bother hiding the zipper, although I suppose that could be done fairly easily afterwards. The criss cross halter straps look uneven here, but I'm preeeetty sure that it was being pulled by something. I hope, at least!

4  Chocolate-Raspberry Mousse Pie in Dessert by fluxxii on: August 10, 2009 02:04:44 AM
I don't normally cook but I've been craving this for a while and it's just way too expensive to buy these, especially since they're so easy to make! I got the recipe from here and although it's not as light of a pink as it's supposed to be, I really like how mine turned out. It was tangy and sweet and had a texture that my dad loves (oh man, old men losing teeth rock).

I got an amazing embroidery kit from perlabella, I love it!

The entire kit.

These cards are so awesome!

I got so excited when I saw this. It's the cover of a needlebook.

Inside had tons of needles!

Thanks so much for the kit, it's so amazing and I can't wait to get started! I'll definitely post pictures here when I'm done. : )

6  Re: Soap making tutorial! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by fluxxii on: August 09, 2009 12:22:14 AM
Thanks so much for this tutorial, it's amazing! I went with this tutorial for my first batch of soap so I can embrace the oven while I still have it. I have a feeling that once I go to college I won't be able to use this method; there's no way a communal oven will stay closed for 12 hours, even with a note! Unless...would this be okay in a toaster oven?

No pictures of my setup, but it wasn't anything special. I worked in my laundry room, since my oven is down there. I used the vegan recipe and it came out SUPER oily. Is that normal, and will it get better when it cures? I'm fairly sure I weighed everything out correctly. Anyway, on to the pictures!

Yay bars! They were super hard to cut because of the oiliness. I could barely get them to stack together because they kept slipping off.

Scraps. This is probably the result of the oil and 3am soapmaking. Can you say rebatch?

7  T-shirt designs, which is your favorite? in Get Product and Website Opinions by fluxxii on: July 31, 2009 01:27:30 AM
Hey guys! My shop is dedicated to mental health issues and I'm designing some t-shirts where all of the retail price will be put into our fundraiser to meet our annual goal. I'm planning on making cooler, trendier designs once I get the rest of the site up but for now I just have these. : P

Here are 3 designs I've come up with. Sorry the pictures are so huge! What do you think? Which one would you be most likely to purchase and wear? Could I improve the designs more? Would $20 per tee be reasonable?

The Buddha is currently the "mascot" of the site and on the layout/business card. The t-shirt designs are just for visualization purposes; I'll probably also print them on totes and whatnot. I'll probably simplify the colours of some designs (namely the Buddha one), since they will be screenprinted by hand.

Thanks for your input!

8  Another website opinions thread! in Get Product and Website Opinions by fluxxii on: June 28, 2009 12:24:22 AM
link removed for the time being. i am impulsively deleting everything and starting over!! aaahh!!

So, I worked on my site for a little too long. The clouds got to me, I guess, because I deleted my layout and downloaded a premade template...something I thought I'd never do! Tongue I'm in the process of designing a logo, but I have no idea where to start. Below is what I have so far - what are your opinions? You can definitely tell me that it's a bad concept and that I need to start over, because I totally wouldn't mind. As you can tell, it's been a frustrating journey for me.

The site is an online shop with handmade items by independent crafters, but it also doubles as a resource for various mental health issues. Overall it promotes positive mental health and provides resources and information to those who are interested, so I'm hoping that the logo would encompass ideals along those lines.

What I've designed is definitely not a finished product, and I'm not sure if it's suitable for a logo. Any ideas? Suggestions/comments/opinions? I would definitely appreciate any and all input! Thanks in advance!
