172  Robot Totebag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Ma Rut on: July 30, 2007 09:06:29 PM
My first attempt at a totebag in general. It's reversible with a robot face handsewn onto it Grin The inside orange patterned fabric is meant to match and offset the darker orange of the eyes a bit. I made this for my swap receiver in the Once You Pop Swap, Round 4: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=182387.msg1954062#msg1954062

I'd love to know what you guys think.

173  Sushi Knitting Needles in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Ma Rut on: July 30, 2007 08:52:49 PM
So this was only my second attempt with polymer clay ever. They aren't the greatest thing in the world, but I'm very, very, very happy with how these turned out! I created them for my swap receiver on the Once You Pop Swap, Round 4: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=182387.msg1954062#msg1954062

I made the knitting needles too out of regular old dowels.

I'd love to know what you guys think Smiley

Why thank you! As you can probably tell, I love anything to do with rainbows.

175  Re: Once You Pop You Can't Stop Swap #4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Ma Rut on: July 19, 2007 06:21:24 PM
After a looooooong dreary day, I came home to find a package from geeber! Grin

Here's the story...

Me when I found the package! EEEEE! Notice the super cute printed label.

Cute note on the end of the box Smiley

I LOVE the can! I have a million cats! And she printed out a really awesome note for me explaining her craftiness. Very cool thought Smiley

Here's the stash! A fantabulously awesome purse (she really did some research on my past posts! or either she's psychic!), a cute chew toy for my doggies, some beads, a crocheted face cloth (that I almost bought on Etsy a while back!). I'm not quite sure what the green sewn piece is, but she did a great job sewing it!

She did a great job coordinating the fabrics Smiley Totally my style...

Rocky and Boots enjoying their new toy! geeber, they totally sniffed it out hardcore Cheesy It was like catnip, for dogs.

176  Re: 2007 Color Craft-A-Long in Craftalongs by Ma Rut on: July 07, 2007 09:01:40 AM
I've been watching this craft-a-long for a while now and decided to jump in! But  I felt bad just jumping in the middle...so I decided to play catch up Smiley Since the middle of May I've been working hard to make up for all the months I missed. Please keep in mind that nothing I do is ever completely "finished"...there's always some improvement I'm getting around to! Here's what I came up with:

This was my first time experimenting with vertical stripes. I just knit the individual strips and matress-stitched them together. Anyone know an easier way? I eventually want to add fringe and maybe more stripes.

This is a Mason jar that I adorned with several flat marbles in clear or frosted and large red heart glass pieces. It's turned upside down in the pic, but eventually I'm going to create a little cradle out of wire so that a tealight candle can suspend from the rim and light up the inside at night.

This is a first attempt at a twisted, multi-strand necklace. It's made of a crap ton of beads! All the beads are glass and vary from seed beads, large heart shaped beads, chipped shell-looking beads, etc.

This is my first attempt at sewing clothing! (or anything other than a pillowcase, really Cheesy) I bought a skirt at Target that I LOVE, but wanted it in a variety of colors that they didn't have, so I made it out of this $1/yard stretchy cotton fabric. Eventually I will add pockets to the front like what's on the Target skirt. It's got a fold-over waist band that you can't see in this crappy pic.

I made a set of jewelry that uses metallic copper glass beads with black glass beads splattered with copper glittery paint.

This was my first time making a ring and experimenting with multi-strand earrings. Pink is my favorite color!

I'd love to know what you guys think Smiley And sorry for the image overload!

177  Re: MY DOG EATS YARN in Stitch And BOTCH by Ma Rut on: June 21, 2007 10:39:04 AM
My dog Rocky...

...LOVES munching on yarn. Especially any kind that has little fibers coming off of it, like "eyelash" yarn.

Also, my cats cannot stand when I'm on the computer! They'll lay across the whole keyboard while I'm typing Undecided
