1  Fun Baby Shower Idea in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by sewbettie on: January 01, 2009 02:04:37 PM
My best friend is having a baby girl in April. To celebrate, my mom and I had a baby shower. At the shower, we made baby onesies for the new baby - almost 20 of them. My mom bought plain onesies at JoAnn Fabrics ($9.99 for a pack of 5). We then used double-sided fusible interfacing to make iron on appliques out of fabric scraps. I highly recommend this project for a baby shower. Everyone had a great time and the baby has more onesies than she'll ever need!

2  Monster Softies in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by sewbettie on: January 01, 2009 01:45:33 PM
I made these monster softies for my best friend's new baby. My boyfriend designed the fabric. I'm really happy with how they turned out -- I just wish I took a picture of the back of them.

That is an amazing idea to use ink blockers even for one color. I put on a ton of ink and it ended up just smushing all over the place. I will definitely give that a try next time I print. I printed on wool felt. I also tried on quilitng weight cotton, which worked a little better. But, I want to use wool felt for this design since I'm going to make him (aka Kevin the Monster) into a softie.

I printed again today and used more ink than yesterday. His back definitely turned out better than his front.

8  Kevin the Monster in Screen Printing: Completed Projects by sewbettie on: June 07, 2008 04:11:13 PM
I just bought a gocco! I freaking love it. I printed Kevin the Monster on wool felt. I'm having a bit of hard time getting a really even ink distribution- maybe because I'm using the screen for paper (instead of the screen for fabric, which I can't find online)?

9  Wristlet With Russian Nesting Doll Fabric in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sewbettie on: May 08, 2008 01:01:11 PM
I made myself this wristlet. It is so cute that I don't want to carry it since I always get white purses so dirty...

My boyfriend and I have been making these onsies with a silk screen. He created the images. Our friends are starting to have babies (oh man, we're getting old!)
