241  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Tropical Snowballs - the jury is still out on this one on: November 23, 2007 08:50:15 AM

OK, so I guess I promised to go to my friends daughter-in-laws for Thanksgiving dinner and needed something to take. Feeling lazy I checked all my sources for something quick and easy and came up with these. They are Pineapple Coconut Snowballs from Taste of Home Christmas Cookies & Candies, last years copy.
Since I'm in Florida for Thanksgiving I changed the name to Tropical Snowballs. All things considered they aren't bad, just weren't as impressive as I had hoped and really messy. They were messy to put together and are messy to eat. The coconut keeps falling off everywhere. Before I put them in the frig overnight they didn't look very appealing, the next morning they were much more solid and had taken on a whiter color.

They need to be kept cold which can be a problem in warmer weather, but they are refreshing and not too sweet.

243  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: I made a robin on: November 12, 2007 09:19:33 PM

That's the most adorable little yarn robin in the world. He's so much cuter then any of the other crocheted birds I've seen. I think it's cuz he's so chubby.

These are really gorgeous!
I think I understand the instructions, but if it takes that much time I doubt I will be trying them anytime soon.
Yours seem really sturdy and they look great too.

Wow, that looks yummy! I bet it would go great with a cup of tea.
I've got a freezer full of bananas too, but I use mine for breakfast smoothies.

249  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: My first Pumpkin and my first post on: November 05, 2007 10:36:46 AM

Thanks for all your nice comments  Cheesy.

This is the pattern I used...

and he only took a few hours. Alas, I started knitting pumpkin tubes before I had the rest of the supplies, so I only finished three before Halloween. Now it's on to Christmas crafting, so I have a whole collection of orange wrist warmers waiting to be stuffed and finished. I guess I'm gonna put them away for next year.
