41  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: Not a bead...A button!!! on: July 30, 2007 11:24:24 AM
Be careful with what you choose to sew this button on with. The metal edges are likely to be sharp enough to cause the thread to fray over time.
Do you have any teeny tiny ginder bits or files to smoothe the cut edges with?
42  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Not completed Paper Jardinierre purse on: July 29, 2007 05:57:14 PM
It's really hard to say, the pictures are hard to see and very small. My old eyes can't make it out well at all. The colors look pretty though. I just wish I could get a better look at it.

44  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: nickel? on: July 27, 2007 05:10:46 PM
I am allergic to nickle too. I can wear sterling silver, gold filled (if not gold), surgical steel and copper.
45  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Asia is more than Japan Swap: Signups CLOSED. Send out by August 25. on: July 26, 2007 05:03:30 PM
I have a good link for India with lots of inspriation. I really like this site and have spent hours there looking and reading. In fact, I think I'll do some more today.

While I'm here, I shall confirm that I did get my partner's info and have started working on her swap stuff.
46  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Middle East/North Africa -Inspired Swap on: July 24, 2007 03:20:08 PM
Maybe all you have to do is add the word "Theme" to it.
47  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Some Altered Images on: July 23, 2007 09:16:05 PM
I have gimp right now. And I am still in pre-school as far as knowing how to use the software. I want to have more understanding and facility with this program before I invest in something like Corel. I know that Corel offers free 30 day trials.
48  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Re: soda ash: when??? (and one more) on: July 23, 2007 09:12:36 PM
I worry about the caustic nature of soda ash. I have used it with silk, but worry that the caustic properties will damage the silk fibers.
49  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: a couple of pillows, towels, a tote, and a wall hanging on: July 23, 2007 11:22:33 AM
The griffin and the squirrels are Aunt Martha too?

50  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Some Altered Images on: July 23, 2007 11:20:27 AM
They are all very good.
Whatever you are using gives very attractive painterly effects.
You also have a knack for composition.
