That is so cute!  It's great to see all of this needlefelting on craftster all of a sudden.  I'd better hurry up and get my shop open, so I can supply all of you guys with wool and needles and tutorials and stuff.  It's so much fun.

my kids do needle felting all the time, I think they started when my daughter was 5 and my son was 8, (they're 7 and 10 now)  and I've taught it to plenty of kids.  You just need to be very clear about how to use it safely, especially that they always use the foam pad, and stick it in the foam when they're not using it (no lost needles floating around) and to not lift it up way high above their hand, and to pay attention to where their other hand is at!

your guinea pigs are super cute!
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Needle felt flowers and bird on: February 09, 2005 05:37:02 PM
those are super cute!  I've been needle-felting for years and it's a lot of fun.  Feel free to ask me if you have questions.  Actually, once you know the basics, you can pretty much do anything.

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: A different type of V-day on: February 03, 2005 12:37:48 PM
Sounds funny to say, but that's a really cute vagina applique.

I saw the Vagina Monologues last summer and it was wonderful.  It was at a beautiful opera house in the Napa Valley, and it was pretty neat afterwards to see all of the older yuppie ladies in the lobby talking and laughing and saying coochie snorcher.

I do a lot of my artwork on old dictionary pages.  I buy dictionaries at thrift stores and rip interesting pages out to use for painting on.  My little icon picture, by my name over there on the left is one of my paintings on an old dictionary page.  They take paint very nicely.
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: TUTORIAL: Make a Lined Zippered Pouch on: January 17, 2005 08:11:02 PM
This is great.  I have been making these things like they're going out of style.  They're fun and quick, and a great way to use up all of the upholstery samples I have.

Very nice job on the tutorial, your directions are super clear.

Here's one of mine, wool, machine embroidered with orange silk lining.
