11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Gettin' Wild! on: August 28, 2007 09:58:58 AM
So.......I have this awful habit of buying great fabric and then hoarding it, 'cos I don't want to ruin it by trying to make something with it! But I finally got brave, and inspired (I was doing a fashion workshop with some local kids at the time these were made).

The first is a tube dress made from turquoise zebra print fabric (god himself designed this fabric for me!) with a different shade of blue lace for the trim. It also has elastic round the top to keep me boobies in:

The second is a stretch jersey zebra print pencil skirt, with a spit down the back n everything! (Note: how proud I am, I am a total and utter retard when it comes to dress making)

And last but not least, a rara skirt with pocket, from neon green and black cotton drill (I grabbed this fabric off the top of the pile as soon as it was dropped on there by the sales assistant!)

I hope you like! PLease be kind (like I said I'm a bit crap at making clothes!) xx
12  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Camo Jordy Bag on: August 24, 2007 09:01:48 AM
Just a quick post of a jordy bag I whipped up for myself. I remembered too late it was meant to be an experiment with using facing...........but oh well, floppy it was destined to be.

I decorated the front with circular facings and heart appliques. The lining is the same fabric. Two zips, front and inside.

I hope you like! It's not gorundbreaking I know.
13  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / please help..............what is gocco? on: August 22, 2007 09:06:34 AM
am I just being really dumb? It seems like loads of people do this at home. Is it something I can do easily? Any help would be gratefully received!
14  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / U.K. AND IRELAND / British Craft Trade Fair on: August 22, 2007 08:59:02 AM
I just got accepted for a stand at the BCTF with my business 'Guerilla Embroidery'. If anyone is interested it's in Harrogate in April next year. MOre details can be found at:

15  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / U.K. AND IRELAND / Dawanda - l;ike Etsy but for Europeans on: August 01, 2007 04:43:40 AM

A newish platform, kind of like Etsy (in a lot of ways) but mainly aimed at the European market rather than the US. I think at the moment they have a 'free listings' offer until September. It is only very new so it needs all the help and support it can get to make it as good as etsy! I'm on there, check out my shop:

16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Embroidered Bird Bag-'Jordy' with a twist on: July 22, 2007 10:48:10 AM
First of all, I want to give a big THANKYOU to the creator of the 'Jordy' bag pattern, for being the first person to write a pattern which I could actually follow https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=32204.0
(honestly, I get soooooooooooo confused!). Both the following bags are made using that pattern, but with different measurements. This is the FIRST time I have ever made a bag other than a plain rectangle with handles, so I am pretty chuffed with myself.

Anyway enough rambling, on with the pictures:

mobile phone holder and inside zip pocket

I also made this bag for a friend of mine, who has just found out her dad is very ill, so it's to cheer her up. It is made from leather that I got from the Jaguar car factory! I also made the charms to balance out all the dark blue. It is the first time I have sewn using leather.

ONe big pocket and a small zip pocket for mobile phone.

Thanks for looking!
17  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My first plushie-camo kitty! on: July 20, 2007 02:50:37 PM
I made this little guy on a bit of a whim. I just wanted a break from doing all my other embroidery.
It is inspired by a plushie maker who I saw on flickr (I will update asap with the name). He is made with camo fleece. I made him as a gift for my boyfriend (hence the soppy heart). he says 'to dave' on the back.Comments welcome!

just chillin' out on my sewing machine!

'to dave' detail

Just some more simple purses I have been working on. The construction is nothing fancy, so I jazz it up with the embroidery! I hope you like. Comments welcome.........

19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / More Embroidered Brooches, New Designs! on: July 03, 2007 10:39:18 AM
Some more little brooches I have embroidered. They are all made with 100% wool, and embroidery cotton, embellished and finished with beads and sequins:

What do you think? I was thinking of making hair clips and bobbles with them on. Maybe even earrings. Thoughts?
