151  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Weekly World News side tables on: May 19, 2007 03:22:38 PM
I made these tables a couple of years ago, but I thought I would post them here because I am very proud of them.  They are just funny headlines I clipped from the Weekly World News and pasted on to two folding tables I got at a garage sale.

My favorite pic is the giant turtle attacking the boat--either that, or the pentagon being infiltrated by squirrels.  =)  Hope you guys like!

152  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: amigurumi cuteness! on: May 19, 2007 03:03:40 PM
Those are too adorable!!  I would say the penguin is my favorite (love the bowtie) but the flying pig is too cute!  Great job.
153  ASIA / Japan / Re: Can someone translate this for me? on: May 18, 2007 06:55:09 PM
I don't know if you've gotten your answer yet, but "Sasuke" is the Japanese word for ninja warrior.  We call it ninja warrior, they call it sasuke.  I think it can also be someone's name, too, so I assume that like much of Japanese the meaning of the word depends on the context you use it in.
I don't know the answer to the second question, though.  I was so happy when Nagano won though!  I was really rooting for him.
154  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: First proper embroidery attempt... on: May 12, 2007 04:13:24 PM
Those are very nice looking!  For your first "real" attempt, you did a great job!
155  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Quest for Greatness - a book purse on: May 12, 2007 04:04:14 PM
That really cool!  I do feel sorry for the books though...at least they are getting a good home.

Haha! That is so cool.  I can't believe you just drew that freehand!  You are an amazing artist.

Those cigar boxes are very cool.  I also love the frangelico bottle.  I have always thought those bottles were very neat looking.

That's so cool!  I have a giant Jim Beam bottle I bought at a flea market, I know what I'm going to do with it!
159  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / Re: HELP mothers day is tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!1 on: May 12, 2007 03:49:51 PM
How about a card that you design for her?  Just draw a cute picture on the front and write a little message inside about how much you appreciate her.  I think all that moms want on mother's day is to just be reminded that we really do appreciate all of the hard work they do for us.
160  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Cat furniture on: May 12, 2007 03:42:50 PM
That sounds like an awesome idea!  I don't know about you, but I think that my cats would tear out staples unless they were totally hidden.  I left out a box of staples once about a month ago and I am still finding them everywhere.
I also think enclosing one of the spaces is a good idea, especially if it has a front and back entrance.
All in all, I think you have an awesome idea!  I hope you post pics when you are done.
