1  Homestar Runner Cake (w/new pix--img heavy!) in Dessert by KeyWest on: April 03, 2008 08:07:38 PM

I spent 7 hours on this thing. Mainly because EVERYTHING is freehand cut out and stuck together through the wonders of water makes it all stick together. Smiley

It's for my boyfriend's BFF's birthday on Saturday. The bottom two layers are one chocolate, one french vanilla with butter cream in between. The top two layers are one chocolate, one friend vanilla with raspberry preserves in between. Should be tasty. First time with Fondant. It's like playdoh! Smiley

Now with more pictures...

I'm gonna ruin this pretty cake... but first I need to drink some little penguin shiraz...

Next comes Marzipan...

My boyfriend and I got a membership to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. They are currently having an exhibit featuring gargoyles and orchids.

Here's a few shots from a recent visits. Hope you enjoy them!

These kinda look like they have little faces on them... can't help but smile at them!

Soooo... lay it on me... what do you think?

3  Re: Bad Craftster Bride (but with bead bouquet tutorial!) in Weddings and Bridal Showers by KeyWest on: May 11, 2007 07:12:01 AM
I was just MOH in my friend's Jamaica wedding (Yay for Jamaica!) and here is my bouquet. I was in charge of making them actually look like bouquets, but they made all the strands before we left for the trip. Bride's bouquet was 800 stems of swarovski crystal and pearls, and mine (the one pictured) was about 300 stems of swarovski crystal and pearls.
