i liked the show a lot, and i really liked some of the recons they did.  but i absolutely hated both of the outfits the people ended up picking!  i'm excited to keep watching though.

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: New bathing suit! on: June 08, 2007 08:51:41 AM
i really like this suit too!  it looks fantastic on you, and it looks like it could provide the support in a bathing suit top that i've been looking for.  i'm still too new at sewing to brave making a suit though.  maybe next year...
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: wide leg pants/tank top on: June 07, 2007 09:41:00 PM
i love those pants!  i was so tempted to buy a pair of wide-leg jersey pants at victoria's secret just a few hours ago (but refrained cause i figured eventually i could probably figure out how to make some)!!  you have to tell us how you did it!
8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / fusible interfacing stuck to ironing board! on: June 07, 2007 10:35:42 AM
so during my first encounter with fusible interfacing, i did it terribly wrong (learned from that mistake) and ended up ironing a whole bunch onto my ironing board.  is there any way to remove this stuff???  i've pulled a significant portion off, but some is just hopelessly stuck to the fabric cover...
9  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Pattern Help for A Sewing Newb on: June 07, 2007 10:29:26 AM
i'm also trying out my first pattern, and it's really confusing!!  i've been working my way through wendy mullen's book, "sew u".  it's really helpful and it explains all the little symbols on the pattern and puts it all in plain english for anyone to understand.

my best advice (even though i'm a fellow newbie) is to try out the pattern first on some fabric you don't really care about (and have a lot of).  that way, you can learn from your mistakes without feeling horrible if something goes wrong.
