1  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 58 ENTRIES / Cozy Christmas Cottage on: January 03, 2011 10:06:31 AM
Bear with me- this is only my second challenge!
My daughter (sewin2disney) perfectly summed up our Gingerbread House Tradition (see her entry- the Tiki Hut).  I started making Gingerbread Houses in 1984, when sewin2disney was just 2 years old- since then, we've made 25 houses- each one different and unique!

Here's this year's house-

This year we did a family-favorite-- the cottage with a bow window and lights inside!

The other side

More front:

The back- with our tradition of putting the year and my daughters names on it:

And the bonfire on the side of the house that my youngest daughter insisted we have...  Cheesy

Thank you for looking!  Good luck to everyone in the contest!

Truly AMAZING!!!  You are so gifted to have such creative imagination and talent.  The story along with the pictures made me smile  Smiley and the WOW factor is definitely the twinkle and glitz from the sequins!  "Sew" professional looking- I think 'mama' would be proud!  FANTASTIC JOB!!!

very nice! Is the embroidery all done by hand?  I like the hanger idea--that way it's now a functional entry too!
4  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 18 ENTRIES / Ring Ring, Who is it? Oh, a Princess Phone! on: May 02, 2007 12:10:15 PM
I chose to make a retro Princess Phone from the 50's
For those of you too young to remember/know what a princess phone was:

Majority of it is made out of felt, sewn by machine, and stuffed mainly with fiberfill and a few bits of cardboard to hold it's shape.  The dial is made of some clear vinyl with circle stickers stuck on for the numbers.  The cord is a hand crocheted spiral.

And now for the "with the flash on" pictures:

I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed making it!

niiice.  Are you going to do the whole car?  You'll never need a paint touch up again!  Just keep covering nicks up with duct tape!
