1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / How did you ask your landlord permission...or did you? on: April 12, 2008 11:51:28 AM
For you crafty renters out there, how did you ask your landlord for permission to run a home-based business. I have an idea of how to propose it, but I was wondering if someone had a great form letter or tips on how to make it go smoothly. Or are you keeping mum about your business?

I know that my apartment building is zoned for home businesses, and it's all mailorder so no foot traffic. Now it's just a matter of getting the okay to proceed with the everything and getting my papers going. Does a  landlord actually have to sign something? if it makes any difference, I live in SF, CA.

Many thanks!

2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Blank matchbooks in the Bay Area? on: February 15, 2006 07:09:51 PM
This is a call to my fellow craftsters to help me find some blank matchbooks in the SF Bay Area. I plan on decorating them as birthday party favors, so I need them to be as blank as possible (white is ideal). I have just begun my search, and am planning on checking Longs, Walgreens, and a couple of party stores for starters. I was hoping some of you may know off the top of your head where I could get some.

Also, I was planning on using my Gocco to print images on them. Do you think this is safe? Is Gocco ink oil-based? I don't want to ignite any well-wishers.

Thanks all!
