3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Interchangeable Needle Recommendations on: January 29, 2008 05:34:22 AM
I've had my Denises for half a year, and they work great if you're knitting back and forth.  However, I'm knitting a sweater in the round (EZ's Fishtrap Aran) and the needles have unhooked from the cable over ten times now!  It's driving me crazy!  I'm ordering some Options and Harmony tips and cables so that I can try both out and see which I like better.  I've heard that a lot of Harmony users have problems with the wood tip coming apart.  Can anyone tell me more about this?

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: what are your favourite knitting books? on: December 12, 2007 01:04:18 PM
A lot depends on where you are at knitting wise and what type of books you are looking for. Here's some of my suggestions

Books with great patterns:
Fitted Knits by Stephanie Japel
Knitting Classic Style by veronik Avery
Knitting Lingerie Style by Joan Mcgowan-Micheal

Design books:
anything by Barbara Walker
anything by Elizabeth Zimmerman
Sweater Design in Plain English by Maggie Rigghetti

Fun to Read:
any books by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee

Stitch Dictionarys:
again, Barbara Walker
Any Vogue Stichionaries
Nicky Epstein's Knitting On the Edge series

I like it.  I use a styrofoam head that I bought at a beauty supply shop for about $5, but yours looks cooler.
