There was a box in my mailbox when I got home from work today!  Grin

Awesome play mat for Apa. I've put it on his windowsill perch to play with while we're at work.
Sorry! I can't get the image to flip right.  Embarrassed

Check out the back...isn't it cute?

Kitty toys!!! The hamburger is adorable and Apa l-o-v-e-s the burrito.

More kitty toys!

Stitch markers for me! I've never had any. My husband's reaction was "Woah. Sweet!"

And Apa's favorite...

The whole bunch!

Thank you soooooo much mlheran! Everything is just wonderful. You really spoiled us!!!!

Whoo hoo! I'm so in. And I love seeing the pictures of everyones kitties.

Here's my little bundle of terror...

He had climbed into the chain of my husbands road bike for a little fun a month or so ago, hence the grease marks.

Chloecat - Can you clarify for me when the deadline are? Sign-ups until 9/10 or 10/10? Send outs when? THX!

I'm super excited!

Yeah, everything is a little crazy right now! I'm graduating college in a week, starting a new job the day after graduation, taking care of kittens and planning a wedding. I can't tell you how awesome a margarita and a sandy beach sounds right now.

Ok, so I couldn't resist adding a picture of one of our kittens.

5  Chocolate Polka Dot B-Day Cake in Dessert by HHjamie on: June 01, 2008 06:23:01 PM
One of my bridesmaids just had her birthday, and being crafty me, I decided to make her cake. I haven't made a cake in years, so I was really excited with the results!

It's three layers of Betty Crocker yellow cake mix, with chocolate frosting and fondant polka dots.
(Don't mind that it's not centered at all on the cardboard)

Another view...

...and from the top!

Comments/criticism/tips welcome!

6  Re: Yarnies Scavenger Hunt Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by HHjamie on: March 13, 2008 07:34:06 PM
The eight hours I just spent in the library writing final papers were well worth it, because I came home to a swap package!

"T" - Tin for stitch markers...I squealed with delight at the hedgehogs!

Round - Knitted tote worked in the round...very clever use of round! (More hedgehogs!)

Green - Knitted wash cloth (I've got to learn to knit)

Local - Chocolate...the bag is almost gone...oops

Funny - Sperm key chain

Sender's Choice - Mosaic Twist Yarn

Hard - Hardcover crochet book copyright 1973. Niiiice.

Sooooo 1970s its awesome

Thanks so much Mandy! I love everything Smiley

I seriously suggest the dress I bought. It so soooo comfortable and such a good price. The back is even prettier!

I wouldn't even know how to begin to make that!

8  Re: Want to get crafting - Need opinions on my color scheme! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by HHjamie on: March 06, 2008 03:14:30 PM
I really really really want to add chocolate brown to the color mix, but my fiance is refusing to wear a brown suit. The original color scheme was aqua and brown, but it got nixed due to the suits. Bummer.

Do you think black on the men will work ok?

I bought this on ebay today to use to attach my birdcage veil, so that I'll have some of the color scheme on me too.  Smiley

Thanks again!

Everyone has so many wonderful ideas posted here, that I've been encouraged to craft my own wedding!

Save the dates

We took the picture ourselves by balancing the camera on a tree and had them printed on shutterfly.

I broke down and bought one. I figured I was busy enough already that sewing my own wedding dress might put me over the limit.

Still to come...
- Location! (I should know for sure tomorrow)
- Invitations and RSVPs
- Centerpieces (I'm thinking of going with the paper topiaries listed earlier)
- Decorations (Martha's tissue balls of course)
- Guest Favors (I'm thinking sandalwood fans since it will be HOT!)
- Garter
- Veil (I've decided on a birdcage veil, but I can't decide if I'm going to make it or buy one off of etsy)
- Bridesmaid Gifts
- Bridesmaid jewelry

The whole clan is getting into the crafty wedding-ness too. My fiance is designing and building the website. My aunt is doing all the flowers and my FMIL is making the cake.

I'm really excited to get started!

10  First attempt at embroidery...cat and sparrow in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by HHjamie on: January 27, 2008 05:43:35 PM
Here are my first attempts at embroidery. I've been eying Sublime Stitching forever, and finally broke down and bought some patterns.

First cat (with crappy flash)

Second cat

Third Cat

Closeup of somewhat even stitches...

Then I got ambitious and went for a t-shirt...

I can't decide what to put in the banner...

Comments? Any tips for a n00b?
