11  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Twinkle's Big City Knits Book Knitalong on: May 04, 2007 03:07:48 AM
As Twinkle yarns aren't available in the UK I thought I might be waiting a while to start knitting these patterns. However, encouraged by skwirel's shopping tunic, I have started knitting the same pattern in Rowan Big Wool - and fingers crossed, so far, it's looking promising!

I also really want to try some of the summer knits and think Debbie Bliss' Cathay yarn might be a good substitute for Twinkle Cruise.

I'm really excited about discovering this thread! I'm going to knit some of these as soon as I can, as I've been meaning to stop using plastic bags for ages. Combining planet-friendlyness and knitting!

Really encouraged by SF's stance on banning plastic bags - if only London would do the same...

Am really encouraged by your indigo ripples skirt - it looks great!

I was ambivalent about trying this pattern but think I definitely will do so now - and will use Rowan Denim as the recommended yarn isn't available in the UK.
