4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Uncut gem suppliers on: December 02, 2007 02:50:53 PM
I have been recently turned on to uncut gems and stones. Does anyone know of a reputable supplier? Preferrably wholesale but any leads would be appreciated! Thanks for looking!
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Aquamarine lariat style necklace (photos may need a second to load) on: July 05, 2007 09:32:04 AM
I guess it's loosely themed after pirates of the Caribbean but I will never admit that again Wink

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / branch earrings on: June 19, 2007 06:04:08 PM

This is the fancy shot

I used these as an excuse to practice playing in wire Smiley What do you think?
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / copper wrapped charmed hoop earrings - everyone loves turtles right? on: June 18, 2007 02:12:52 PM
Here's my latest creation - I initially wanted to make a hoop and a threaded earring set but loved the hoop so much I decided to make 2  Cool

It looks a bit smooshed here but I have since pulled it into a nice full circle. I love how playful they are and I can't wait to wear them to hang out. ^_^ They're made of copper, gold filled hooks, glass, wood and jasper, and swarvoski (sp?) crystal beads. Thanks for looking!!

Constructive feedback encouraged Wink
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / necklaces made with jade, carnelian quartz and glass beads on: June 16, 2007 04:08:58 PM
Yes, today was a busy crafting day for me. Smiley

Made of all glass, I call this one carnivale. It has a regular lobster claw clasp. Surprisingly, it matches almost everything in my closet Smiley

This is my favorite. It ties in the back with hot pink ribbon sewn on with bright orange thread. ha ha - I got the ribbon off a shirt in the donations bin in the den. you know the little part to hang skimpy shirts on the hangers?  Wink

The leaf is carnelian (used for clear thinking. It is said to help balance creativity and mental processing,) the elephant is jade (attract and enhance love of all kinds. It is also a stone of fidelity and generosity. It is also considered to be good for the physical heart and for emotional balance and stability. Jade is also very helpful as a stone of abundance) and quartz (a power stone that harmonizes and balances. It enhances energy and thoughts, and purifies the spiritual, mental, and physical. It is also a powerfully protective stone, bringing the purified energy in.)
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / copper and jade turtle bracelet on: June 16, 2007 11:22:31 AM

This is made of Czech glass beads, copper beads and a jade centerpiece. You can't really tell here, but the turtle is looking over it's shoulder smiling at you  Smiley I used a stretchy cord to string it so it would fall very casually and another thing you can't tell is how brilliantly it catches the light. The little glass beads after the white opaque beads are clear on one side and gold filled on the other.

It's my first time using crimp beads and findings (both are sterling silver.)

I'm pretty content with how it came out.  Cool Sorry I'm so long winded... Thanks for looking!
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Is there a technique for stringing chipped gemstone? on: June 16, 2007 07:55:56 AM
Hello  Smiley I bought a string of chipped aquamarine from my local beadshop and I didn't realize what I was getting into. At this point I've been stringing them one at a time. I read somewhere that you can string groups of stone by themselves... does anyone know how to do this or have a more efficient workflow? I'd like to have it done by my trip to the beach next week  Wink Thanks in advance!
