1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Jewelry holder made out of decoupaged frame on: August 28, 2007 12:03:07 PM
I've had a regular ol' jewelry box for a while that I received a couple Christmases ago, and my earrings/necklaces were always getting tangled (plus difficult to find quickly). So, while I was getting ready to return to college, I spent a couple of my summer days putting this together.

All I did was buy a memory frame from Michael's and randomly decoupage it with some scrapbooking paper I liked. Then I sprayed it with spray adhesive, which sealed in the paper and made the paper smooth and shiny. To hang the earrings I used a piece of screen (the kind screen doors have) and stuck veneer strips in between the screen and frame backing. I painted the frame backing and sides of the frame with some leftover paint from painting my room a while ago. Lastly, my dad drilled a few holes in it and twisted in some hooks so I could use the extra space to hang necklaces/bracelets.

I'm pretty happy with it, and it definitely adds a little color to my very white dorm room!
