I'm going to Mexico next week and I needed something to hold my money while I'm out and about, so that I don't have to carry something around! This was such a good idea, thanks!!

12  Re: does anyone have board short patterns??????????plzz!!! in Sewing Pattern Reviews by Shanalicious on: May 16, 2005 09:56:10 AM
I haaave this :

It's pretty much exactly what you want, and I think it's been discontinued, so you won't find it in a store or on the website..  I used it about 3 years ago for the longer board shorts, but I don't think I will again.  Sooo I could send it to ya if you'd like =D Just lemme know

13  Hemp Necklace w/ Wooden/Ceramic Beads =) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Shanalicious on: April 28, 2005 10:53:32 AM
I absolutey love hemp necklaces, and all the different designs and beads you can use with them.. I own quite a few and wondered how easy it would be to make them myself, so I got some hemp and some beads and tried it out! It's easy as pie! I love this one, and have many many ideas for more. Do you think anyone would be interested in buying these? I have the supplies for about 20 right now.. hehe

I'm selling this one on ebay here

14  Re: Orange/Fuschia Striped Jacket=D in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Shanalicious on: April 15, 2005 01:52:25 PM
Aw that's too bad.. they really shouldn't intimidate you. If a pattern is written out well, its just telling you what to do and in a non-confusing way. Maybe start with some of the patterns that say 'easy' on them.. I actually believe this was an 'easy' pattern too, but any McCalls pattern I've used has been pretty simple.

So I've finished the skirt! It started out floor length, but this is really thin & stretchy material, so it hung pretty funny.  Sooo I chopped a bit off, and now its knee-length (which is more what I wear anyway..).  I really like the way it turned out.. this is a hot outfit!  The black in the middle and the flash of skin makes it look great =) Okay, now on to the next jacket.. I've been putting off the replica jacket of this one, but if anyone is interested in buying it, I would definitely whip one up for you!

15  Tye Dye Pleated Bag =) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Shanalicious on: April 14, 2005 12:59:35 PM
This is my version of the pleated handbag that is posted somewhere on this board.  I used some navy blue tye dye cotton fabric I had laying around.. I used it on another project a while back. I think this is one of the cutest bags I've ever made.. I love it! Thanks for the idea! I'm also selling this one here

16  Tye Dye Slip Dress =D in Dyeing: Completed Projects by Shanalicious on: April 13, 2005 05:16:29 PM
I found this white cotton slip dress at the thrift store this morning, and decided it was too boring.  The colors came out really really light.. I've had this experience before using cold water dyes, so I think I'll try again with hot water dye.. in my experience it works better.  Have any of you also had this problem?

17  Rainbow Batik Handbag =) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Shanalicious on: April 12, 2005 11:08:35 PM
I made a messenger bag for a friend out of this absolutely gorgeous batik fabric I found, and had some left over to play around with.  I just finished this cute little handbag, which is lined in blue cotton.  I still have a bit left over, so I think I'll try another style bag as well =D

18  Orange/Fuschia Striped Jacket=D in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Shanalicious on: April 12, 2005 10:38:29 PM
I just made this awesome jacket out of some totally gorgeous fabric that caught my eye at the store the other day. I also got 2m free, so I'm planning on making a long skirt to go with it =)

The pattern was a bit short, but I kinda like it that way.. it looks good over another shirt. I'm definitely gonna try this with some more fabric I have, and just adjust some of the sizing. I love it!

I have tons of fabric left over so I'm planning on making another to sell, just a teeny bit bigger. If you're interested let me know!

20  covered tile table in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Shanalicious on: October 31, 2004 08:01:53 PM
My boyfriend and I bought a lot of new furniture when we moved into our place, and this was one piece. These tile tables were on sale because they were the last left in the store, but they had really really ugly & boring tiles on them.. we figured we would just replace them and that would be fine. Well, it's been about 2 months, and nothings happened with the tile shopping.. sooo my boyfriend went away for the weekend, and I raided my fabric stash.. I covered all of the individual tiles by glueing the fabric to the back.. The pic makes the fabric look way lighter than it really is, and its a kind of navy blue/black tye dye.. looks AWESOME now.. im so happy =D
I wish I had taken a better before pic of this.. but it's too late now... I took one picture to show my boy what I was doing to our table, and luckily I got some of the old tile in it
