1  Re: Because we miss Harry Potter Swap! in The Swap Gallery by July_July on: March 17, 2008 03:17:53 PM
My package from Pinupmommy was waiting by my mailbox when I got home from work today!!

First off, some lovely stationary with the Ravenclaw crest and my name and address!

Holy crap, I didn't even tell her about my guilty pleasure of coloring, but she sent me coloring book pages!!!

Two absolutely lovely pillows in very Ravenclaw colors. (The kitten always has to be in the way... you don't know how many pictures I tried to take and this one has the least cat and the most pillow, lol!)

Possibly my favorite thing of them all: Ravenclaw colored stitch markers that spell out my favorite character's name!

The stitch markers were in this adorable little treasure box, along with some magnets featuring the handsome Alan Rickman!

Okay, maybe these are my favorite too!  Also in the treasure box were gorgeous gorgeous earrings!

Also was a poster featuring art from all the books, advertising the release of the seventh books, but I didn't get a pic of that.

My older cat's favorite: the fed-ex box!

"If you try to remove me from this box human, you will be missing limbs."

Thank you so so much pinupmommy!  A lot of thought and care obviously went into every project and I love each and every one!

2  Dressing up blinds? in Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions by July_July on: May 04, 2007 10:57:16 PM
Hi all!  I just moved into a new apartment that is graced with institutional white mini-blinds.  I'm hesitant to drill into the walls in order to hang curtains, but I thought I could spice the blinds themselves up.  This is from the HGTV website:

I can't quite tell how the ribbon is attached.  Is it on the blinds themselves or attached to the string?  Any ideas?

I thought with that, adding some beads to the pull string, and maybe covering the top frame with something would be improvements that I could remove before I move out.  Has anyone done anything like this before?

You're going to have to be more specific, there are lots of little curly parts in ears!  Smiley But I've seen pretty much every little cartilege ridge pierced on someone.

And I also just saw a pic of someone with a stud sort of where the "conch" ring is in that picture, so the back of the stud would come out the back of the ear.

I have my rook pierced in one ear and it's my favorite piercing EVER, delicate and pretty.  I've avoided getting piercings elsewhere in that ear so that the rook piercing is more prominent.

I'm imagining something like this: (get ready for my awesome paint skillz)

Is that what you meant?  Like a spiral?

I think that would be awesome, and you could hang stuff from the ends or put a bead in the middle.... Whoa.  The possibilities!

I'm not quite sure what you would make it out of.  Sterling silver wire, probably, 20 gauge? 18?  One end would have to be sanded smooth so you could poke it through the holes, but the other end you could curl into a loop and hang stuff from!

5  Pearl and Black Crystal Earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by July_July on: April 17, 2007 09:47:01 PM
I'm going to a formal dance at the end of this month and as I skipped my prom in high school and greatly regret it, I've been going all out.  But I could never find any earrings that I thought were perfect so I finally just made some!

I'm too new to post pics, so here's a link.  Roll Eyes

I used freshwater pearls and the crystals are swarovski except for the teardrop shaped one, which is just glass I think.

I've been thinking that I should switch out the 6mm jump rings to 4mm as they seem rather... prominent right now.  What do you think??
