and this swap: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=39591.0

we're doing round 3!!

You find a picture at a thrift store (yard sale, etc.) and send it off to your swap partner. Then they revamp it ala this website http://thewurstgallery.com/vintage_vandals.html and ship it back to you. We'll have 'original' art that no one else in the world has! How cool!

Keep in mind the size of your picture when choosing. You can get whatever size you want, but shipping may be pricey.  Please pm me with the dimensions of your pic, so I can match everyone up accordingly. You can get any medium you want -- fabric, magazine pages, paintings, canvas, glass, whatever. Also, if your picture has glass in it, please remove prior to shipping. You can send the frame, but please remove the glass. This will make it easier, and safer, for everyone.

Also, please check out the original threads for questions, because alot of stuff was brought up and answered. Thats all! Good luck and have fun! Happy Thrifting!

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside of the US?
Are religious icons/art okay with you? Even if we wreck it?
Anything that you do not want to work with or find particularly offensive??

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / tattoo-theme swap on: June 30, 2005 08:17:00 AM
Any interest? I was thinking anything tattoo-inspired (embroidered, sewn, drawn, books, whatever).

(ok...I sooo stuck this in the wrong board...and I'm not sure how I managed to do this...so if you have the power to move it, please do)
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / one a day stuffed animals on: June 23, 2005 10:04:48 AM
I searched on here and didn't see this already posted. The link is from boingboing.net. Check out this site: http://www.fujichia.com/stuffed/ for the one a day stuffed animal project.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / betsy ross patterns, or other suggestions? on: June 10, 2005 09:53:20 AM
I'm looking for a simple, retro-ish dress pattern. Again -- simple. Must be simple. I like the patterns at http://www.sewbetsyross.com/tops.html#, and only found one reference on craftster about it (a good review).

Has anyone else used these patterns? What about the shirt and pants? Are those simple, too, and how flattering are they? I'd also like to find a simple shirt pattern, with a retro-ish cut, that would be good for a busty gal with basic sewing skills.
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / naughty hibiscus purses (warning -- adult theme) on: May 24, 2005 07:07:00 AM

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / turn your partner purse on: May 24, 2005 07:05:46 AM
I really loved these tea towels: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=34046.0
so when I found this square dancing fabric in the clearance bin, I was inspired to make this.

7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Sock monkey swap? on: May 04, 2005 01:28:51 PM
Any interest in a sock monkey swap? I was thinking of swapping actual handmade sock monkeys for this one, rather than sock monkey-themed crafts.
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / crayola transfer crayons on: May 01, 2005 03:04:31 PM
Has anyone else tried the Crayola transfer crayons?

I just found them this weekend and had never seen them before. You use them like the transfer pencil (draw a pattern, then iron it onto the fabric). I tested one on a tea towel today and it worked great. Anyway, I'm hoping the yellow will show up on dark fabric because the red doesn't, and the chalk or carbon-type transfers rub off while I'm working on the piece.
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / fortune necklace on: April 29, 2005 09:14:07 AM
I made fortune frames last year for my annual craft booth, and this year I'm adding necklaces. This is the first one I made. I'm also making some that will hang horizontally. The fortune can easily be changed since the glass piece on back is slightly shorter than the one on front.

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / new pillow: audrey hepburn on: April 29, 2005 09:10:50 AM
Here's a recent pillow I made. It's supposed to be Audrey Hepburn...but I'm not so sure you can tell.

The back is black velvet.
