I updated my list!
I was just looking at the lists so far and saw you had a pearl swirl on yours. Is that current? I honestly can't remember who I've sent one to so far and who I haven't.  Cheesy Several people wisted 'em and I made a few but...bah. Memory fails. If it's current, I'll keep an eye out for ya. Wink

I received my well-stuffed package from mcook72677 this weekend!

The whole haul:

Yeah I know, right? Jeez, it's a lot of stuff!! Grin

Zippers, rick rack, piping, etc...

And buttons and snaps...

Wow, mcook72677! Thank you for all the goodies! Now I just need to get brave and try out my zipper foot. Cheesy And maybe even tackle an actual pattern. Grin It's all great stuff and it'll be fun getting to use all these awesome supplies. Just what a newbie like me needs!
3494  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Two Birds, A Tree and Some Purple - Yippie! on: May 02, 2009 08:59:25 PM
I would have made the tree trunk just the slightest big longer and the roots a tiny bit shorter....besides that I really think its amazingly awsome!!!!
Yeah I agree. I didn't plan out what I was doing with it and I wound up with some long pieces I needed to make a certain length so I could gather it all back into one part.

It's really huge though. Like easily over three inches high. So it's not for the...less bold person. Wink The round ones are a more "typical" pendant size. Still, for making it on a whim at like 12:30am one night it's kinda fun. Cheesy

Just some assorted items I've made lately.

First up, an "Amethyst Swirl" which was made for a swap. It's a take on what's been dubbed my "Pearl Swirl" piece. (Original here)

It uses a wide variety of amethyst purple glass beads. I loved the color, variation and just...quirky uniqueness of it.

Next up are a simple pair of bird earrings I made. (Also for a swap.) I just thought they were cute.

And last up is a Tree pendant. Which, in and of itself is not odd for me. (I'm kinda infamous for them. I make a lot. Ok, a lot a lot. Wink ) But I got bored one night and decided to play with three times as many strands of wire as I normally use AND make it in a pre-made rectangle frame. I didn't plan it out ahead of time, so it's a little random and uneven, but I still kinda like it. It's huge compared to my normal, circle ones, but I forgot to get a pic for scale.

It's natural peridot gemstone with copper wire.

As always, comments welcome!

3497  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: May 2009 Birthday Swap - LISTS on: May 01, 2009 01:38:08 PM
Yay for May babies!! Grin

About Me
Greetings everyone! I'm a 31 year old woman (turning 32 on May 16th!) who lives in Florida (USA) with my guy and two cats. My favorite colors are jewel tones like amethyst purple, emerald green, ruby red, sapphire blue, turquoise, and amber. I like silver but not really gold. (Copper's ok too.) My favorite color combination is a deep teal blue and chocolate brown together. It makes me happy. I also love things that go along with my "PhoenixFire" theme like reds/oranges/yellows together. My favorite animals are cats, owls, penguins, bats and red foxes. I love to read, I enjoy photography and I love all things Disney!

I suffer from migraines so please NOTHING musk/amber/patchouli/dragon's blood or floral scented. Unless it smells like you can eat it, it will give me a migraine. I LOVE fruit and dessert scents greatly though. Also, please no bar soaps (skin is sensitive to glycerin) and nothing with artificial sweeteners like NutraSweet (aspartame) or Splenda (sucralose) as I'm allergic to both.

-- A purse in this kind of style. I LOVE, LOVE LOVE this bag. The mix of the cord and the cable...? LOVE. (Could use an existing sweater for the knit part as well if you don't knit. I think that'd work just fine as well.)

-- A robe like this one. It's just so lovely and I desperately need a robe. (3/4 length or long-sleeves, and mid-length overall. Not too short, not too long. I wear a US size 4 and can send measurements if needed.)

-- A tote like this one. I love and covet everything about it from the colors, fabric to the pattern.

-- A Slanket! I almost bought a "snuggie" but the fabric was icky. (It was like thin felt.) I want soft, awesome microfiber fleece stuff, you know? Something long enough to cover my toes as well. I'm forever using a blanket on the couch so this would come in hand GREATLY.

-- A leaf embroidered wallet like this.

-- A purse like the first one here or like this. I like the shape of both styles but it's really the look and colors of the fabric I'm really sold on. So something in similar colors/patterns would be great. Here are more I've wisted for inspiration.

-- An apron like any of the types I've wisted. Preferably in colors like blue/brown or purple or green or colors I like.

-- An iPod Touch case just like this style. I love the shape and the colors even.

-- Hand knit socks. Something warm and soft (no wool please because it itches me) I've got small feet so like a 6.5 size foot or girl's sized large socks for reference. (HUGE bonus if it's argyle pattern. I don't know why but I love argyle.)

-- An Autumn Leaf Barrette. I miss autumn since we don't get leaves changing colors here in Florida.

-- A leather tree ipod touch case like this. It's SO pretty. (Brown leather please.)

-- A cool fitted tee like these. I love the colors of these examples. I wear a US size 4 or typically a size small or medium. I pretty much live in baby doll/fitted tees.

-- Something stained glass - sun catcher, glass mosaic item, etc. I just love stained glass and wouldn't even know where to begin making it myself.

-- Something ceramic/pottery or vase or a bowl or a tea mug or whatever. Again, a skill I don't have but really love. (A couple things I've wisted for inspiration.)

-- Something glass work like a vase or something. Blown or torch or whatever. A cool medium I don't know how to work with at all. This is really pretty for example.

-- Fused glass or glass (microscope) slide pendants you think I'd like. (Here are some wisted inspiration items as examples.)

-- Surprise me! Look at my wists or my wishlist, or the colors I like and see what you can make that you think I'd like.

Craft Supplies

-- Doodle Stitching book like this. I've never tried it but it seems like it might be fun.

-- Starter resin kit/supplies (resin, molds, etc.)

-- Starter rubber stamp carving stuff. (Maybe a kit or items like tools, the rubber to carve into, how-to/instructions, etc.)

-- Gemstones and gemstone beads. In every shape, size and color. Donuts, cabs, chips - anything! I LOVE working with gemstones and I can never, ever have enough.

 -- Lampwork beads.

-- Beading supplies. I create jewelry so I'm always looking for unique and interesting pendants, charms, gemstone beads, large focal beads and such. Also, I love Swarovski crystal, unique clasps or toggles, and jewelry wire in 16 gauge and 24 gauge in any color. Gemstone chips are awesome as well since I make Tree of Life pendants with them.

-- Tea! Especially fruity ones.

-- Chocolate! (white, milk or dark) No coconut please.

-- Candies! (whatever neat little treats you enjoy, send 'em my way. I love candy)

-- Sewing magazines. (especially things geared towards newbies)

-- Beading magazines (esp ones with projects/tutorials)

Thanks in advance and HAPPY BIRTHDAY everyone!!
3498  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 45 Gallery on: April 30, 2009 01:02:04 PM
I received my package from ehinders yesterday. She claimed me for a fitted tee and some sewing supplies and sent a box full of fun, neat items.

Here's everything:

The shirt of course (in a beautiful dark teal blue color that's totally me), two large pieces of fabric, a little zipper bag made from the cutest whale fabric, four spools of thread, a ceramic picnic basket pin cushion and a travel sewing kit. (It's packed full of thread, needles, little scissors - the whole works!)

The shirt action shot

(It's hard to tell in the pic, but the design is actually like a metallic copper. It's dark copper but it has a neat shimmer to it up close.)

And close-ups on the smaller items

Thank you, ehinders! Grin

I just realized it's the last day of April and I was like...oh man, I wonder if anyone's talking about a MAY birthday swap yet?  Cheesy Yay, I'm glad it's already been discussed because I'd like to be in it again.

How long before I'm considered "stalled"?

If I don't get picked soon I'm going to get a complex  Embarrassed
End of the month is hard. Eleven of us (myself included) are full on claims. Other people are most likely trying to finish up their items before the next round starts. Undecided
