I'm home! I just got done setting my pc up just checking in. I posted some videos on my facebook during my evac and my "facebook live" video even featured Aurora.  Grin

Thankfully, we're some of the lucky ones with power. So I had a hot shower and a hot meal for the first time in 2 days. It was glorious.

Mostly, it's downed leaves, small branches and debris. We really dodged a bullet here because it weakened a lot before it hit us.

We set up in an office building so we were on air mattresses in a conference room with our cats. LOL

We kept walking right out the front door to look at (and feel) the weather. Here is from about 10pm:

Overall though, we came through unscathed. Tired and we have a lot of unpacking to do and we really need a solid night's sleep but we're safe. Thanks to everyone for their well wishes!

Here in Tampa, Florida we were only 81.5% but it was still super cool! I had a filter for my telephoto camera lens but not any glasses. So I mainly looked through my lcd screen. Aurora, being smaller in scale, was able to use the filter a little more than I could. Might not be the most flattering look, but it worked. Cheesy

And here's a pic I took:

*squee!* I may or may not have made a special mid-Friday afternoon trip over to the new Cost Plus World Market in Clearwater after hearing they had gotten Clearly Canadian in stock!!!

As I have not had it since it was discontinued in the 90's and since previously, the nearest store was 120 miles one-way away that had it, I was just a little excited to see all those lovely blue bottles on the shelf.

(I drank a Mountain Blackberry tonight and it was just as awesome as I remembered it.)

Ah...nostalgia.  Cheesy

Apparently last week was all about questionable food choices.  Roll Eyes  On the way to dinner a friend and I stopped in to see another friend in his shop.  I had Clara all set up on the tire, but he wanted to be in the picture.  Not a problem, but after the Roto Rooter guy I was a little gun shy about asking men to be in the picture.
I love when random people want to be in LV photos!  Grin

And just to prove that sometimes I go to places that aren't food related, here's a picture of a fire break in rural Missouri.  Sorry for getting part of the car in the shot, but I was on a curve without a shoulder and had to stop as briefly as possible.
First off, the food looks awesome. LOL Second, the fire break pic reminds me of where I'm from in rural PA; we used to have those there but to be honest, I was so young I never knew/realized that's what they were for!

Saturday, we swung by the first Cost Plus World Market to open in the Tampa Bay Area at the new Clearwater location. We wound up with a sampling of international candy and soda. Lots of other people found items to buy as well as this was the line. (After we had been in it awhile nonetheless!)

Sunday, we drove around trying out yet more recliner chairs. (It's one of those things you just need to sit in them to see if you like them) After, we were starving, so we stopped off for dinner and I was amused at this chicken...um, sculpture? out front. Aurora wanted to do her best, "I'm king of the world!" from the top. LOL

So far I've found 2 recliners I like but there is a vast difference in cost and it's hard to justify spending so much on something I'm buying out of short-term need vs actual desire. I mean, we'll obviously keep it so I want to like it because it will be furniture in our living room for years, and yes, I will be living and sleeping in it for like a month so I better like it, but...ugh. So. Much. Money.

Anyway, no decisions yet. Aurora liked all of them so she wasn't much of a help. Wink

Question to the seasoned visitor swappers: when do you normally start printing photos and working on the scrapbook?
Never soon enough. I wind up panicking and cramming across like 2 or 3 days hours of work getting it done nearly all at once. I always say I will plan better next time, but...yeah.

So sadly, we have done nothing fun lately. The other day I had to go get bloodwork (12 vials!!) and Aurora came along:

Unfortunately, I also wound up getting more testing on my continued shoulder problem. I've been doing Physical Therapy since May. It didn't really help and I needed an MRI arthrogram and found out I have a SLAP tear. Basically, part of my shoulder called the labrum is torn. The labrum helps deepen the socket of your shoulder bone, has a bunch of connections to ligaments, and connects to your biceps. I've blogged a lot about it HERE if you're interested.

(This is me. The circle part is the tear in my shoulder lit up from the contrast during my MRI.)

I'm going to need surgery. But I will have a minimum of 3 months down time recovery - a large part with my arm 100% immobilized. No driving and no working. So I'm putting it off until January so I can try to make and save enough money this holiday season to afford being laid up for such an extended period of time.

So...yeah. I'm in pain, scared, worried and just overall unable to really think about anything else right now. It's going to be a really long 5 months until surgery. And if I can't make/raise enough money, it will be even longer which scares me too. Because recovery sounds miserable in so many ways, being in pain forever sounds awful too.

Sorry to be a downer. It's just been a rough 7 days or so. Cry

Today we were out at Disney Springs (formally "Downtown Disney") and they were doing a "Christmas in July" celebration. Santa himself was taking a Florida summer vacation, so Aurora took a moment to share her holiday wishes a little early with him.

Santa was quite impressed to find a polar bear in Orlando! Cheesy

I met her in Austin this past week at ABDC!  I was so busy getting skirts made at the last minute I didn't get to check in here.  Too bad, or she could have made two LV scrapbooks this round.  Grin
LOL That would have been funny! In a previous round, Inselaeffchen came to WDW and I got to meet her AND our LV's had a meet up as well. Cheesy

Not a lot of excitement around here. It's brutal summer heat so we've been outside only when necessary. Couple weekends ago we did our final show in Dunedin:

...and we tried to stay cool by hiding behind some fans:

Thankfully, that show is one of the rare occasions we have access to power to run them!

Aurora also stopped to smell the magnolias bush that lined a huge portion of the sidewalk:

And she stopped for a pic with the Target dog, since well, they had a whole spot set up just for that purpose!

Aurora and I were highly amused by this painting of the tourist from Lilo & Stitch we found just sitting on display at a local art store.  Cheesy

Over the weekend, we went down to St. Pete to a monthly antique market called Brocante to walk around. There's always weird and interesting things.

Aurora found an appropriate sized sailboat:

After, we headed a little further south to the city of Gulport. I'm a member of a group called Localshops1 - all about helping support local businesses in the community - and they have a storefront. I won a contest to have a photo of mine displayed there so we brought it down.

There was a small break in the rain so we walked around the main street a little bit.

We saw a cool manatee mural too:

Last few days it's been rain, rain, RAIN and more RAIN!! Tons of thunderstorms. It's unusual for us to have "all day" storms like this, let alone all day for 5 days in a row. But 70% of Florida is in drought conditions, so  we can use it.

Here was yesterday's radar for example:

...today's shaping up the same. It's ok, I'm just doing my physical therapy a couple times a week anyway (Monday & Wednesday this week and next) so during the week there's not been a lot going on.
