Very cool! I wish I had kept all the tiny mini skirts my roomate gave me when she cleaned out her clothes...but the ones that fit were soooo short!  I wish I was as creative as you!  I would have had some damn cute little purses!  Never throw anything away...(or donate as the case may be)...I love the purse Smiley
12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Stripy blue elephant! (image heavy) on: February 26, 2008 07:36:26 AM
I love it!  I absolutely adore elephants, and yours is so cute!  I guess I should learn to knit on double-ended needles...a few years ago I tried and just failed at it.  But this guy would be worth it.  I should mention my house is loaded with elephants in all forms, and I have a tattoo of a baby elephant  Wink You totally rocked this little guy!  Grin

i have finished some small pieces of my package, but one of my big ones didn't turn out right Angry  I think I am going to try again instead of giving up on the idea...I really like it Smiley  Plus, I am house-sitting some kitties this month so they are test driving the products, LOL.  They tore one to shreds (which was give a huge thumbs-up from the kitten especially) so I think it will be well received, the new one of course Grin  probably should get back to my work now....i think one day they are going to block me from craftster!

Hi there!

It's so nice of you to take care this little guy Cheesy  I do not know a lot about Chin cages, but for our bunnies we built them a neat cage out of those cube-its.  I know there are some posted ones around here somewhere, or I will try and get a picture of mine loaded.  Add some shelves, toys, a pouch or nesting area, tubes, etc and you should have a happy little dude  Grin  Most small animals enjoy little hiding places like nests, and they really do enjoy TP rolls (try filling them with hay or even bells, cover the end with paper and watch them tear it apart to find the treat-adorable) And, don't worry, all critters, rodents, whatever- they all have high levels of intelligence, more than we always notice.  I don't think you have to be intelligent to have fun or stimulate your senses or anything like that anyways.  They still need toys and things to excite them and keep them happy.  So keep making toys and playing with your house guest- he will be glad he is staying with you and not someone who thinks rodents are happy just sitting around all day- as you get to know him you will find fun games to play and come to respect him for the cutie he is, animals don't have to be as 'smart' as humans OR dogs OR cats for them to lead full, happy, stimulating lives.  They need just as much attention and love- ignore anyone who says otherwise.

Hi guys!

Sorry I haven't been posting! I didn't flake, I promise!  Grin  I have my projects going...at least I am able to use the internet at work!  Hopefully there will be some happy kitties in my future Cheesy    hehe I had a brain block on trying to figure out another project to do, and now I have been flooded with ideas and must pick from them LOL.  And I *promise* i'm not surfing craftster while at work....again....  Cool

That bunny house is fantastic!  We made ours the same way with the grates, but ours isn't nearly as tall.  We got them a 'dig box' (a covered litter box) so our girl would quit using their actual litter box for digging--very messy!  They ended up using the dig box as a 'shelf' to perch on so we never ended up adding the shelf we planned.  My bunns love slinkies, too Smiley  Also, we like to hang baby toys like plastic keys and links from the top for playing.  Our bunns aren't allowed free run of the house-- too mischievous!  They are out most of the day, but they love their own little home.  Also, my boyfriend now makes an adventure area next to their home with extra grates and cardboard pieces.  He changes it every week or two so they always have a new challenge and a new area to remodel, Lizzie especially loves to add new doors and change the furniture around  Cheesy  Best thing we learned is to rotate their toys so they feel new and exciting!

Also, aside from some bunns just being more or less social naturally there are ways to bond more with them.  Try visiting Rabbit.Org for all sorts of tips about caring for them.  On the Colorado HRS site there are articles for playing and training bunnies.  Of course, you can only encourage their behavior so far Smiley  My Lizzie DOES NOT tolerate being held very long- but she loves to sit and be scratched and loved.  Her hus-bunn, Twitch, will run like hell and pretend he doesn't want to be pet, but once you put him in your lap he is butter, LOL.  Also, to people looking at bunns, remember it is almost always essential to have at least two bunnies, they need their own kind to be content and happy  Grin

Haha, I hope this information helps somebody  Roll Eyes  Again, I absolutely love the house, I'm going to look into changing ours to be taller like yours. Thanks!  Cool

20  UNITED STATES / Colorado / Re: Thrift Stores in Aurora/Denver on: January 15, 2008 12:45:37 PM
I haven't been in the store in a while, but these guys had the biggest and best selection of everything.  They had lots of housewares and appliances and quite a large crafting section.  They had a lot of cloth, but I don't remember how good the pricing was on it- and it always matters what they have going in and out, of course.  If this isn't near you they have another couple of stores around the metro area.  When I looked up the address on the whitepages one person had given it an awful review, but I have never had a problem there.  I found loads of stuff for good prices and the people were very nice.  It was a bit dusty, especially on the dishes and glassware, but overall it was nice.  And in the back you can see the employees cleaning and pressing clothes to go out, so I was impressed.  In fact, I may just head over there after work...hmmm.  Cheesy
It is Unique Thrift Store  (it is some kind of religious charity group, I believe)

Hope this helps!
