2  COOKING / Dessert / christmas cake on: December 08, 2010 09:37:45 PM
I was inspired by a very talented friend of mine to get into cake decorating.
This cake is my first attempt using marshmallow fondant Smiley
It is fruit cake covered in a layer of marzipan, then fondant
I was a little disappointed that i couldn't get a bright red and green colour using the food colouring i had but i have since bought gel food colours which are supposed to work better.

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / beautiful wool... not so beautiful gauge on: July 03, 2007 03:59:23 AM
I have a cardigan pattern and beautiful soft wool but it dosen't knit to the right gauge and would be an absolute pain to knit with smaller needles.
Will it still work if i knit a size smaller than i usually wear with a larger gauge than the pattern suggests?
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / coloured stripes and knitting in the round... on: June 27, 2007 12:24:07 AM
I just finished a most beautiful hat (if i do say so myself) that was knit in the round and has stripes.

Where the rounds join, there is a little step in the colour change over, is there any way to avoid this?

thanks a bunch
