21  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: in honor of valentines day.... on: February 14, 2008 01:06:50 PM
I love it!  Great job.
I almost stopped at Salvation Army today with the same intent.  It's so hard to find good knit fabrics at fabric stores!
22  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Cutest Newsboy cap - Happy Valentine's Day! (img heavy) on: February 14, 2008 12:48:52 PM
Thanks everyone!   Grin  I got lot's of compliments from moms at the preschool too.  I made that and a Valentine dress for my 5 year old yesterday.  I'm kind of shocked I did all that.

atsuko - the hat is mostly single crochet.  it's two strands of worsted weight together done mostly on a Q hook (I do mine on a P, 11.5 mm hook since that's what I have).  There are two rounds done in half double crochet.  That's a simple stitch.  I don't know what the good crochet sites are, but I'm sure they're out there.  Probably listed somewhere on craftster!  The pattern is really easy to follow too.  I recommend it since you get the adult and kid size for $4.

I made this for my three-year-old yesterday.  I'm hoping she's still wearing it at her school party today.

It's made from her pattern:  http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=66574
I can't stop making these hats!

24  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Bonsai Tunic + Mods on: February 13, 2008 10:43:44 AM
Great job!  Yours looks so much prettier than the pattern photo!  That is way nicer than my first knitted garment - I will never wear that thing out of the house.

That is awesome!  I really love the fabric you used.  Your daughter is so cute.

It's always a bonus when they actually like the projects we make for them!

That is the cutest!

I love them.  Great details.  What an adorable little model you have!
28  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: "I Luv Veggies!" Reusable Produce Bags! on: February 12, 2008 03:34:11 PM
Love them!  This is the second post I've seen in as many days with reusable produce bags.  What a great new trend!

Your embroidery is so cute - I can't believe you're so new at this!
29  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: valentine and dead dolls :) on: February 12, 2008 07:56:12 AM
I love your dolls!  I would love to make some like this, but I'd have to hide them from my daughters since they might be scared (they're 3 & 5).
Great job!
30  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Newsboy Cap for my little one on: February 12, 2008 06:56:04 AM
I made one for myself and loved it so much, I made another one for Abby.  She loves Holly Hobbie and this is a lot like Holly Hobbie's hat in her new movies.  I bought the instructions from her:  http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=66574

Here are the action shots (as close to action from a 5 year old recovering from the flu and an ear infection):

I'm working on a pink one for little sister, but I'm about to run out of yarn.  Thanks for looking!

Edited to say:  This is the child's version of the cap that Koi posted recently.
