Thanks for your kind comments Smiley I was getting a little worried as loads of people had looked at it and no-one had commented Sad

In response to your questions
Shade weaver- its about 30cmx30cm.
Spirals- get those needles working! I'm sure you will love it, you have so much control  over the fleece and end product, its great! I look forward to seeing your completed work soon.

Shockingly i haven't needle felted (or been on this forum) for absolutely AGES! However I realised this morning that i had missed my brothers birthday yesterday. He has no idea what he wants for a pressie so i thought i would dust off all my needles and yarn and needle felt him a sunset/beach scene! He has traveled extensively and loves surfing so thought he might like it!
Let me know what you think!

Sorry had to jump in here, there is a serious language barrier thing going on!!

In the UK we use the term 'jumper' to describe our sweatshirts/pullovers, where as in the US i have picked up that you guys use 'jumper' to describe a style of fitted dress/pinafore Cheesy Cheesy

Stargazer is modeling the completed sweatshirt/pulllover which we brits call a jumper!!! Grin

Monday is a bank holiday here and the weather is meant to be really pants Sad  But, i Don't have to work and and have a good excuse to be inside all day, so i am going to make my vessel then! I have baloons and roving, just need to get my hands on some tights, i only have one pair which i do wear occasionally so im loathe to cut them up, feel a shopping trip coming on!

Lexis-the vessels are looking great, can't wait to see the finished things. Im heading over to the completed gallery to look at the ones there!

Following lots of interest we are starting a re-feltalong based on a previous feltalong.

The (democratically voted for!) choice for the first re-feltalong is for the wet felted vessel. The tutorial, along with the original discussions, can be found here:

Anything relating to discussions and questions about the felting can be placed in this thread (although don't forget to read the original thread first incase your question has already been answered) . Lexis/Tanis who wrote the tutorial has said she will pop along with advice and tips and will answer any questions, which is fab, so fire away.

Pictures of completed work can be placed in this thread:

All are most welcome to join in, we are starting on Friday 18th may and are aiming to finish the feltalong on Friday 15th June.

I'm excited to see what we all come up with! Happy wet vessel felting!

The polls have closed and the votes are in!! (ok i may be taking this a little too seriously Cheesy )

The final votes are, (Drum roll please!!!!!)

Third placed are:
flat resist = 2
Flat work = 2

Second placed are:
Needle felting over 3d form = 3
Flowers = 3

Which means the winner of the re-feltalong for this month is:

So to continue with my bossy streak, if no one has any objections, how about starting today? I think Jane Does suggestion of a month is a good idea, plenty of time to gather materials and get going, so how about finishing on Friday 15th June?

I will start a re-feltalong thread for the wet vessel on the 'discussion and questions' page with a link to the tutorial. Anyone else interested is most welcome to join in.

Final call for peeps interested in joining the (re)feltalong Cheesy

the votes so far are:

Vesssel = 3
Needle felting over 3d form = 2
flat resist = 1
Flowers = 2
Flat work = 1

So we don't spend forever voting and no time actually doing the feltalong, im going to be incredibly bossy and decide that the closing for votes is this Friday 18th May, so far its looking like the vessel is the favourite to start off with, but it could all change Grin
